What does the article mean by £30m in unpaid transfers, is it that we owed that money but never paid it (surely we'd have been taken to court), or is it that we were paying for players over a number of years rather than all upfront, or something else?

 

Pay over time, add ons etc.

 

It would be just paying the rest of the transfer fee's in instalment's that were set out when we bought the players. This would have been budgeted in to be paid off by prize money etc (which we had a lot of last season). I never understood when the media said it was "debt". It would have been set out in a specific way and paid with the incoming prize money, so they basically made something out of nothing.

One thing about Clyney [thank you, Ron] is that he is a right-back, or a stand-in left-back only. Chambers is a midfielder, a centre-back, and a converted right-back. He's very [perhaps extremely] good in various positions, hence his value.

Thankfully, everyone has a decent RB in their ranks. We still retain the best one that Saints have had for the last couple of seasons, and the best English one in the PL, in my opinion.

 

love the guy and makes things happen when he gets forward but can't cross a ball into the box...

 

Basically what I said a few days back. Burnley are playing hard ball but he wants to come. He won't sign a new contract so Burnley will have to way up whether to get 8-9m now or let him go on a free. I can see it being agreed in a week or two.
