    Booing Bobby Robson.

    Denying booing Bobby Robson.

Claiming Bobby Robson as a Geordie especially when he died, despite them being the only club he won nothing with.

I go back a bit further, but the only grudge I ever bore was Leeds United, and look at them now.

Its true to an extent that the arse is getting ripped out of my team, however I am fairly excited what the management will do with the cash as I do believe he will be given the funds to rebuild. We tried playing just youngsters before and we ended up in L1 with shell shocked players that included Lallana and Morgan.
The only players I would miss are Morgan and JRod, Lambert as well but he left to join his Liverpool so no hard feelings.

Shaw, good player but potentially 33mil for him is a fantastic amount of money for us, 16mil for Chambers is twice his value, same as Lallana at 25mil who apparently just wanted to leave once he played for England and was pretty **** for the last 10 games. Lovren will be a miss but he wants to play for Pool so 25 mil for him (bought him last year for 9mil because he was a stroppy bastard in France as well).

Chambers and Shaw will be replaced with youth, Rickie and Lallana have been replaced, Lovren hopefully will be replaced in the next 5 days. Morgan is almost impossible to replace but we have good CM players and youth.

Any club out of the top 5 can not resist when a big club comes calling. Sad thing is that most of the players that have left will be bench warmers. Shaw will struggle if Man U play 352 as his attack play is pretty ****, Lambert and Lallana will both be on the bench, Chambers will be 3rd choice at Arse, Morgan is quality but Arse have a brilliant midfield, Lovren will be 1st choice and JRod may struggle at Spurs as he is wasteful
    Onwards and upwards

Played there in the 3rd division and drew 1-1 I reckon ....... John McPhail pelanty iirc.

We went to help a few ordinary Sunderland lads, who were up against about 50 of their lads, and one of the bastards came at me with a knife.

They also oversold the Sunderland section, in the seats, and we ended up walking around the stand all game so we weren't turfed out.

Stuck us in that poxy overcrowded away open terrace and charged us more than any other away fans that season.
The normal prices had bits of A4 stuck over them with the new prices ...... bastards.

The police closed all the pubs and we ended up in a Granada Bingo to get a pint ...... had to fill in a form, pay a fee & become life members!

On the positive side, the beer was cheap, came in real glasses and I won a massive teddy bear for getting a line <laugh>

The police closed every pub in York, crammed us into an away end that was obviously too small and attacked people out who encroached on the running track. The lads took it for so long then started back at the police.

Some Sunderland supporters left the end and ran across the pitch into a seated stand that had been left empty as segregation.
The police said we'd rioted ffs <doh>

I climbed the floodlight and the police surrounded the bottom.
The Sunderland lads were shouting, "Higher higher ..... lower lower," as there was a Bruce Forsyth cacthphrase at the time <laugh>

When I came down the lads created a kerfuffle and I managed to crawl away on my hands & knees <ok>

Oh yeah, and a mate of mine had his denim jacket ruined by a police horse in the crush outside .......
........the outcry has stuck in my mind to this day,

"How Polis man, yer cuddy's chewing me coat!"

Went there for a reserve match, when I lived in Mansfield, and Billy Bremner was managing Donny.

We ended up a few feet from him and kept up a barrage of 1973 based insults.

He gave us **** back to the point where the players, on the pitch, virtually stopped playing to watch the row <laugh>

The police were called and we were hoyed out <doh>

Oh yeah, there was a Doncaster nutcase called Jesus who followed us all the way through town, back to the station, waving a machete .......

..... at a ****ing reserve match ffs!

No mate, it was a league match or the cup, but I remember it as league.

York had done well and come up from the 4th division iirc.

We also played them in a night match that was equally overcrowded but no one got onto the pitch.

It was only the 2nd time, in 40 years, I've ever felled a Sunderland supporter ......... to my shame.

He was calling Gary Bennett all kinds of horrible names and I warned him to stop, but he didn't.

I wouldnt have believed this but I remember at the time......there are 4 people who work in my office.....me and 3 NUFC season ticket holders! All 3 of them middle aged blokes so they didnt have the excuse of being young and foolish, and the terrible things that they were saying about the bloke, I couldnt believe my ears!!! They hark back to the era with tearful nostalgia now though!!!
