I think someone is ****ing around with his car, because everytime he gets close to Rosberg in the points, something happens to his car or pit stops suddenly get ****ed up to stop him overtaking.

Hamilton makes his own luck. Obviously. I'm very glad of the double points now - a good opportunity to 'even out' that 'luck'.

I wouldn't go that far. He has very little luck, but unless evidence to come out to prove otherwise I'm keeping my arse firmly pressed to the fence.

With these issues, rosberg is having a pressure free qualifying.

doesn't the JD Power survey already recognise that right hand drive Mercedes are less reliable than left hand build even when they come of the same line or is it because of the drivers?<whistle>

Well, another easy win for rosberg to follow. Hopefully Hamilton can get a podium to keep the championship alive.

Will be difficult as only one real passing place at Hungary. This won't be a walk in the park, they will have to employ a good strategy to get him through the field.

Mercedes must now look at the mechanics to see if someone is really dropping the ball on Lewis side of the garage. This is becoming too regular for them not to investigate to see if someone isn't doing their job properly. Last qualifying not even two laps in and his brakes explode, now after leading in all practice session and into Q1... Before even posting a lap time his car is on fire. Now this is car failure no.4 for Hamilton. Now he has to start at the back of the field again. Mercedes seems to be letting down Hamilton badly. Ok he mad a couple mistakes in qualifying but all these car failures are not his fault and mercedes doesn't seem to have any answers as to why his car is always failing. Up to now they can't find the reason for the brake failure from last weekend..now this fire.... If the mechanic on his side can't get it right then they should look at replacing them. Well Hamilton need to just try to put all that behind him and put his hard down...don't give up. I know that will be hard especially when it is happening so regularly, but he just need to refocus and drive his heart out. This track is very hard to overtake on so if he gets in the top five that's a bonus.

I personally doubt it would be 1 mechanic that 'tampered' with both brakes and fuel system. What does seem clear is that Lewis pushes his car to the limit and maybe beyond. But even so a brake failure so early in qualifying surely can't be caused by misuse. As for the fire then at a guess something got too close and either burnt or cut a fuel line.

Mind you it does seem strange that virtually all the mechanical failures are on Lewis's side of garage. Then again Crash Maldonardo also seems to have more mechanical failures than his team mate.

    Sadly probably just coincidence.

    Calm down.

Silverstone was Hamilton's decision not to finish the lap, Germany was a component failure from an outside manufacturer, today is probably the first failure that can be attributed to Mercedes out of the last 3 quali cock-ups.

Rosberg vs Hamilton in the rain tomorrow could have been epic. Another race ruined in a ever more disappointing season...

Frustrating again. Rosberg had 2 pieces of luck today, the fire on Hamilton's car and not hitting the barriers when locking up in Q3. Hoping for heavy rain and changeable conditions tomorrow!

Indeed. You can't blame a mechanic for Hamilton making the wrong decision, a faulty brake disc or perhaps even the fuel line today, everything was fine up to that moment, if it was a specific fitment problem it would have been obvious much earlier, most likely a sudden component failure again.

Maybe somebody should look into Nico's side too after his gearbox at Silverstone and problems in Canada.

Things just sometimes break, it's a fact of racing. Luck of the draw.
