despite my other aggressive type posts look forward to him.. although i'm hesitant to say anything till he's actually signed for us officially! i love that chester has played almost 150 times for us, and only 25, he can be a city legend!
.."Since he came back from his injury" Rethink your comment based on that line, and rethink when the SPL video was made. And then wonder how much blame is on the jump from SPL to Championship and how much on a number of injuries Sone has suffered.
Ok you win. I can't be bothered getting into a ridiculous argument with you over nothing. Aluko isn't the player he was.. FACT. I don't want to waste my time debating the reasons why. This isn't a debating club for you to demonstrate your superior intellect. My interest is in Robertson. That's what this thread is about. If you want to get into a pissing match about a peripheral comment on another player you're on your own son.
You're bitching about youtube videos not reflecting a player's true talent when Aluko's did. Not sure why you're getting your knickers in a knot.
Looks like we've paid the seller's asking price yet again. When are we going to get someone in who can negotiate?
What's the point in arguing over £500k till deadline day? If Bruce wants him as badly as it seems why not get him in now, work on him and see if he's ready to start against QPR
Dundee UNITED fan here, you have hardly been bent over and shafted here. £3 million pound for a player who it is obviously felt will come in and challenge for a starting spot straight away is hardly bad business. United were in no need to sell, Andy still had 2 years on his contract. and take for example you being linked with Rose for between £6-8 million. this could prove a bargain. However unlike most United fans I don't know for 100% certain Robbo will nail down a starting spot straight away or even through time prove he can play week in week out in the Premier league as it can be very hard to judge a great player in the SPFL and know what he can do at a higher level. altho I do think he has the ability and the mentality to prove himself if given the chance. Also in regard to this thread and several posters it is an insult when Dundee UNITED are referred to as Dundee, this is the same as saying Manchester or Sheffield. Im sure you don't like being referred to as Hull City Tigers and thats not even close to how bad it is to refer to United as just Dundee. thanku
He looks a prospect on youTube. My point was not disputing anybody's valuation of his worth, just identifying a recurring theme in our transfer negotiations this summer. Mind you, the same people believe we should be called Hull City Tigers, so it's hardly a surprise.
I understand, obviously I'm not too aware of your other negotiations so can't really comment. If you look on Youtube Andy could be the best left back ever haha. He is a very attacking full back with as good an engine as I have seen in the SPFL, there will be parts of his game he will need to improve but in Scotland it was very hard to see any flaws tbh. Really hoping he can prove a quality player in England, really happy for the lad
No he is not crap, simply not as good as he is attacking. Elmo is wasted as a full back especially when we have Rosie.
Cheers BigK - I'm sure he'll settle in nicely - he'll have a few fellow Scots in the team to help him settle Is he as quick as he looks on YouTube? Maybe he should be across in Glasgow for the track events - they start soon!
He is quick, again I think the his best attribute is the engine he has which obviously helps. I wouldn't go as far as to say he is rapid but still very quick for a full back. Does anyone know why the transfer was not confirmed yesterday? I thought you would be wanting to push it through so as he could play in Europe.
I wouldn't take it as an insult about calling you Dundee rather than Dundee Utd, it's a basic error from people who believe the world revolves around the premier league. If he's been in the Scotland national set up then he's in good company along with Shagger, Boyd & Snodgrass. He should fit in well.
It's stupid having two Dundee teams with one being just called Dundee. People are obviously going to make that mistake. If they'd just done what everyone else has and gone with City/United or something then there'd be no confusion.
