Once again the football season draws near after what seems to be no break at all due to the World Cup. All change at the CCS as well, after a year in the English top flight, Cardiff return to the division they conquered a season ago. Will we simply stroll to the title in a similar manner to 2012/13 or will Ole's teams find one of the many pitfalls that often befall relegated teams. We should know well that this division is no stroll after 10 consecutive years stuck in the Championship. With less than two weeks to go until the balls is kicked at Ewood Park, it is time once more for the return of the BPPL and as usual the drill is explained below. Further detail included in the Blackburn Rover (A) post For you that don't know the Prediction League was originally run on the old 606 and involves the guessing of the scoreline and the scorers in each of Cardiff league games this year. It's been good fun over the past couple of seasons and gets some of you who don't comment as much to become more involved in the board, as well as some good old competitive fun to see who of all of us is the best predictor. So comment and follow the instructions below! Existing Members - If you were part of the league last year and took an active part, comment on this thread and you will reclaim your place in the Division you were in last year, including relegation and promotions. You will see this confirmed as your name will appear in one of the lists below. New Members - If you are hoping to join the league and I hope there's some of you... Comment and your name will be placed in the Non - League list. It is likely that you will join Division 2 Thanks Blue Sheep

me in please, cheers sheep also, i found predicting the scorers boring and ruins the game a bit - it encourages people to predict 4-4 instead of 0-0 as they can put several goalscorers in and get more points. if others agree i support just making it a score only league, it means less work for you too sheep
Definitely a loop hole as you say Swamp, I'd support a scores only league, or the reward for the score needs to be much higher than guessing goal scorers.
I was going to make it max of three scorers which would remove the situation Swamp describes. However, if more people agree we can reduce it just to one or remove it entirely. From my POV goalscorers make it more interesting as more points are available and hence more chance of people moving in the table. Steveoldinho (Div 1: 9th) UP 10 After securing the second promotion slot the previous season, Steve has continued his upward push by easily dismissing any chance of a return to the second tier. Like the rest if the division, he struggled for CS’s – his last one coming against Fulham in late October. This coming season Steve will need to wary of 2nd season syndrome but given his previous attempt at predicting Championship fixtures he should be able to consolidate his mid table finish. Swamp (Div 1: 6th) UP 20 An extremely successful season for Swamp, given the last two seasons has been spent lurking in the lower half of the second tier. Like Bfb, predicting Premier League results suited our former moderator and he lurched forward to take the second Christmas promotion slot and despite a dip in form later in the season, still managed a secure a top ten finish. However, a similar question to Bfb must be asked for the coming season. Given his previous record of predicting the Championship – will Swamp have enough to build on his promotion to the top tier?
Count me in Sheepy. I'd also support a system where picking goalscorers didn't have such an impact on the table - sometimes it was disproportional to the result points and it was exploited. (no names, no pack drill......)
I'm in Sheep. Thanks for taking this on again. I will go with what ever scoring system the majority chose. I'm that confident. Again.
Oldsparkey (Div 2: 9th) DWN 3 After two last day playoff grabs, a hatrick was always unlikely especially after Sparkey struggled to adapt to the realism of the Premier League. Sparks will be disappointed not to have been in the promotion tumble once more after a season of mid table mediocrity but will hope to push on with Cardiff fixtures against the like of Charlton, Brentford and Rotherham. BluefromBridgend (Div 1: Champion) UP 27 As mentioned in last year’s previews if the change to predicting in the Premier League would suit anyone it would be Bfb. What could not be seen was that he would stroll to the top of the First Division in such a dominate fashion. It was a surprise when the Christmas Promotion slot was easily sealed considering Bfb’s only notable contribution in the two previous seasons had been to get stuffed in a Playoff Semi – Final by The Exile. His form continued as he wrapped up the Top Flight Title with a massive 7 CS’s from 38 games – the 1st Division average was 2.2 and is easily the biggest mover in the history of the BPPL. So can Bfb achieve where Siam and Eldon have failed and defend his title? History suggests that as Cardiff return to the second tier so may Bfb….

Bring it on!!!!
FrankfurterBlue (Div 2: 10th) Another strong debutant performance but lacked the firepower to get close to the top of the division. After a good start with 3 points gained from our goal less draw against Everton and then 2 more against Hull, Frankfurter slowed down and eventually finished in the middle. He will hope to push on and move into the playoffs next season. Sayer77 (Div 2: PO Winner) UP 1 Sayer enjoys a successful season as he returns to the Top Tier at the second attempt and in the process becomes the first person to complete such a feat. After crashing out at the semi – final stage last season, Sayer makes no mistakes this time as he just edges a close final with Ninian. After two tough years in the 2nd tier Sayer is probably in a better position to avoid this drop this time and will hope to secure his place in the top tier for a time to come. The Exile (Div 1: 13th) UP 8 After two strong seasons in the second tier, Exile has struggles to reproduce that form in the top flight. A lack of predictions followed by no CS’s led to Ex only just missing out on a straight return back to the 2nd Division. Ex will be hoping to have more success back predicting Championship fixtures and make an improvement on this badly managed season.
Bfb’s only notable contribution in the two previous seasons had been to get stuffed in a Playoff Semi – Final by The Exile. But this was so true!
