    this is the problem supers.

you have a cook as a owner
you have a radio presenter as manager
from the sounds of it you have shelf stackers arranging you friendlies
so that means you probably have a used car salesman in charge of your academy.

its not what you have, its how you use it. (so the missus says anyway)

yeah. doesn't really work like that does it seeing as the coaches all have to be fully qualified to the highest level - that's the whole point of the system or have you not realised?

    we have our faults but...

the cook in question has helped us to promotion three times and recently presided over three consecutive years in the top flight despite basically having no money.

the radio presenter might be a dog or he might be a jewel (no, not that one!)

the shelf stackers will probably face a law suit in the coming days though you'd think shelf stackers would be quite good at 'arranging' things.

"its not what you have, its how you use it". ordinarily i would agree but again, you miss the point. its the top category clubs that get everything and the others have to make do. you've missed out and you can keep glossing over it but i know deep down you'll be fed up with what has happened. i would be too.

If the big clubs want one of your players I'm sure they will get them if your cat one, cat two, cat three or cat Stevens

TBF to Supers he is spot on, we would have been far better to jump on board when Cat 1 status was available from the beginning, I would imagine it was easier to get in from the onset than to try and break in a couple of years down the line.

Also another point is I don't think for 1 minute ME has been penny pinching on this, moreover my understanding is that he has put in around 1/2 a million more than the required investment, it sounds like it has been a major cock up by those people ME empowered to move us forward to Cat 1..... I would imagine he is mega pissed about this, I would imagine the axe will be wielded if not already!

Sounds more or less what they did for Colchester. Evidently they hadn't quite made it...

    http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/colches...ategory_two_status_but_for_how_long_1_3643426

xxx “The good news is that we will get Category Two this season,” revealed Cowling over the weekend.

“However, the bad news is that they are going to set a deadline for when the indoor ball court is in operation.

“They will not accept either the current surface at Warriors (Warrior’s Rest facility at Tiptree) or the ancillary facilities there.

“So we may need to find an alternative venue, and very quickly, or we’ll be back to square one again! xxx

Oh really?? Isn't this what our esteemed chief exec was whining about - the criteria, feedback and process generally is "a bit of a mess"? What do you know that's so different? Or is this more superman wishful thinking bullshit that we were treated to on your (not at all made up) "stats" regarding your cheating your way up to the premier league (remind us again of the penalty and sending off "stats" you gave us).

i couldn't give a flying fudge whether you think i'm making it up or not jonah. i know i'm telling the truth. in fact, it was quite well publicised when norwich were under audit for the same status that they were constantly in contact and giving updates. may i suggest if your club has not been then they should appeal.

    but they won't.

ps. its staggering that you still hold a grudge from four years ago. you're obviously a very petty man.

    <doh>

Given one of the main whinges were the months waiting with no contact, perhaps not. Though - hey - it seems by Superman's logic that whether or not they appeal will settle the matter. That would be the only criterion anyone would apply to the possibility of appealing, after all! What other reasons could there POSSIBLY be??

Grundge? Unlike some I don't have the memory of a goldfish and can therefore remember the "65.96447% of stats are made up on the spot" merchants. Some you can lend a bit of credence to their pronouncements, some you know have a tendency to make stuff up to suit.

I suspect that is a clever little twist on events to save face. The wait at the end does take months - not sure why considering much of the detail is in hand. City got tremendously frustrated at having to wait so long. However, you cannot pass unless you comply with all of the 224 mandatory criteria (there's more in total but not sure on that figure) - ALL of these mandatories are assessed 'throughout' - not just at the end of the audit process - so any failure is ultimately the fault of your club. Not enough was done in your attempt to scrape in at the bare minimum level. This is indisputable I'm afraid. Of course you will dispute it because you don't like what you hear but unfortunately for you I actually have an understanding of how the process works from my own club. If you don't believe me I don't care, it's up to you if you wish to feel your club has somehow been victimised. Fact is your club has cocked this up big time. And yes, it is funny.

Don't let lack of information stop you from pretending to know the ins and outs of all the goings on involving a process that you had nothing to do with that was judged by a group you have little knowledge of while tasked with grading a club you have no affiliation with.

thing is, i do have an affiliation with a number of people at both norwich and ipswich, in particular within the academy setups so you can all claim that i know little but i'll wager i know a hell of a lot more than any of you do on this subject. ok, i wasn't involved in the process but are you seriously suggesting that ipswich went through a totally different set of audits to norwich and weren't given the same opportunities? absolute poppycock. everything i've posted about norwich will have happened at ipswich, manchester united, liverpool, southampton, middlesbrough etc. difference is, ipswich didn't do enough to get the required standard and that is what you all feel aggrieved about, even though its me you are aiming your annoyance at. perhaps you should look a little closer to home... many of you will have put in a financial investment towards securing category one - i bet these people aren't happy with the club.

I think we all just have to bow down to Supers' superior knowledge about absolutely everything, football related or otherwise!
I wish I was as certain about anything as he appears to be about everything!

I don't feel aggrieved at all as I've said before cat 1 or cat 2 makes no difference it's down to the quality of the coaches IMHO, I think one of the most important things in developing young players is to keep it fun for the younglings rather than placing pressure on them(often done more by parents). I also do doubt that the process was exactly the same for us as with the bigger clubs and even the lesser clubs that got on the firm early doors like yourselves, at the outset they needed members so would obviously aid the clubs that they wanted to be members( a bit like bouncers allowing pretty girls in the club free) but now they have numbers they can be more strict on admittance......I could be wrong.

bigal, as i stated earlier, you don't have to believe a word i say - i couldn't care less what you believe. i don't have to prove myself to anyone on here. i'll leave you with this thought: baring in mind norwich were audited nearly two years ago and the details were in the public domain, why would people at norwich make stuff up about the auditing process? its hardly because they knew ipswich would fail their audit. ipswich hadn't even begun the process of applying at that stage.

as i say, believe what you want to. your club owe your fans answers, that's all i'm saying.

anyway, good luck for the season (except the obvious games of course). you've got a great manager for this level who can make a difference to ordinary footballers and i've got a feeling you might sneak above us this season. we shall see...
