A link for those that want to read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...y-Ground-home-Kuwait-City-Ground-Stadium.html Oh dear. Is this the first old stadium to change it's name due to sponsorship? The only ones I can think of are newer and don't have the same amount of history behind them.
Sportsdirect@St. James Park is most high profile of recent times Changing from the Walkers Stadium to King Power Stadium didn't bother me in the slightest. One sponsorship to another and after the owners put all the money in then if they want to change which is basically a sponsorship deal they can. Had the stadium had a proper identity then I would have had a problem
Oh yeah...but nobody ever called it that! Although that's likely to be the same with Forest (except for Leicester and Derby fans of course!)
Our stadium doesn´t have an identity as proud says so for us (within reason) it can be called any thing. No body really calls it Filbert Way, it´s not known as that. Filbert st was known as Filbert St for years & years so changing that name would have been a problem for me personally. Btw I was sad to see us move away from Filbert st but I knew it had to be done & now we are really seeing the benefits of it. I think the name ´King power stadium´ is better than ´the walkers stadium´ any way, so I´m glad it changed. I just hope our owners don´t have a stupid idea of changing our club colour, can´t see that happening though tbf.
Since the stadium name change Forest have announced they will sell out every game from now on after "developing a modern day supporter" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28484536 No more empty pink seats for the cameras
