This is all coming from leeds fans on Twitter. I'll give them their due, if it's photo shopped, that picture is believable... Currently waiting for Stockhausen to confirm if its fake or not..
I do not believe a word of this. It is not on Bristol Post website! Someone has cooked this up from previous Post reports about Sam being happy to stay here this season. Look at the date on it. Yesterday! If it was true it would have been non Post site yesterday 24th. Good wind up. A Gashead perhaps?
If this is true then I am not surprised because he is one of the best assets we have had for a long time and seeing as he is in his final year of contract then perhaps the time is right. Like most City fans I don't want him to leave but sometimes you just have to accept that we live in fluid times and never say never. Whether Leeds is the right place is not our concern and provided we put any transfer fee to good use and also get a player included in the deal then all should be well. Sam would move on with all our best wishes and then we move on to other things and decide if we have enough firepower to clinch the deal in the league. Can't really see the reason behind signing his best mate if Sam is indeed moving on, and where will it leave JET in the overall scheme of things because I don't think we should put up with his on again off again performances. Obviously not confirmed yet and perhaps it is just a rumour to get our taste buds going but let's see where the chips fall.
They say it was put up and taken down very quickly... What I find ahrd to believe is how a Leeds fans was on the Bristol Post website just as this was posted.... Can't rule it out at the moment but most certainly don't believe it...
Andy Stockhausen has just tweeted me this Andy Stockhausen ‏@AndyStockhausen · 2 mins @Brett_Liddiatt covering cricket chaps and Bristol City not responding to my texts re: Sam Baldock rumours! I'm sorry guys but there may be some truth in this.... If there wasn't he would have just said so
Nobody's discussing about Baldock wanting to move... Just that the club might have possibly accepted a bid.
Wind up or not cidered you must think that Sam is worth that kind of money, especially to a new Italian owner who seems to want to become the latest dictatorial owner of Leeds Utd. Solely relying on Sam to take us back next door to the promised land would be a bit unrealistic but in truth I hope he stays as long as he doesn't end up like a certain ex-player who thought he was too good for us a couple of years ago. I think Sam is the type of player that any team would love to have in their line up and I wish him every success, hopefully at Ashton Gate with a new improved offer put on the table asap.
Andy Stockhausen @AndyStockhausen · 2m To confirm, I know nothing about the "story" that appeared briefly on Bristol Post website re: Sam Baldock! Someone playing silly games?!
I really do not have any idea of Sam's transfer value at present. His goalscoring at League One level with MK Dons and ourselves is very respectable. But he could be, harshly IMO, be called a failure at Championship level at West Ham and City. So while we think his value is at least £1.25/£1.5 million, we may be way off the beam. Too high or too low? That is something we may find out. But Mike, I cannot see this report on Bristol Post. It is, again IMO, a doctored copy of yesterdays Post report about Sam happy to stay. Go to http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristolcity And check it out.
