Once again Watford have signed a proven player at Championship level (and possibly above). We were crying out for this type of player last season. I see this as a good, "stiffening" signing for our squad, even if he doesn't play every game.
Doesn't look good, "Troy Deeney will not feature for Watford against Boreham Wood this evening, despite being included on the initial squad list to face Ian Allinson's side."
Watford: Gomes, Doyley, Angella, Tamas, Pudil, Abdi, Tozser, Battocchio, Anya, Vydra, Dyer. Subs: Bond (GK), Hoban, Doherty, Ekstrand, McGugan, Ranegie, Smith, Fabbrini. Assuming that Deeney might go, that starting team looks very much like our 1st team to me.
No room in your 1st team for Juan Carlos Paredes then? Which reminds me - are we still awaiting an international clearance for him?
http://www.whitecapsfc.com/news/2014/07/open-letter-jay-demerit Shame he couldn't go out on his own terms, but still comes across as a class act.
He turned into a good player under GT, when we went down he told the papers that he would go to any prem club as he was not going play in the cham. and he never did GT shipped him out to Canada,
What's everyone's views on Assombalonga replacing Deeney (sorry, I know he's not gone yet but it's looking pretty imminent). BA has gone from strength to strength at Boro and we all knew it was a mistake selling him so what about it, BA in for TD. Can we activate any buy clause?
I am not sure it was a stake selling him.. Good price and he did look out of his depth whenever he had played for us, although I appreciate he was young. Joe Garner did just as well last two seasons in the lower divisions, do we want him back? Because of his age Britt should continue to improve but our coaching staff did not see enough in him for us to want to keep him, so I am not convinced at this stage, but do agree he did well last year. How do we compare Britt to Uche Ikpeazu?
JDM made his debut in 2004, GT last managed us in 2001. The manager when he left in 2010 (he played 3 seasons back in the Championship) was Malky.
Cheers, nice article. ?? Really, he was a very solid defender! Bet you loved this goal!! True that! He got us up, don't forget!!
My Posh supporting friend didn't rate him. He said the same as we did when he was with us. Problem goal scorer of course but often goes missing. He's no TD IMO. They're welcome to keep him.
