Another option for those with time but tight on cash, national express do a return coach trip to Vienna from London (you can start in hull for a little extra). It departs London at 7am Wednesday and arrives in Vienna at 7am the next day with plenty of time to make the cheap trip to Zilina, returning from Vienna at 7pm Friday arriving back in London at tea time Saturday. £120 per person return. I figured out you can do the whole trip for £200 (or less) all in this way. If you have more time you can also go out earlier and return later, there's also a coach trip that goes all the way to Zilina but the weds-Friday bus is sold out, there's space on longer trips though. Another option for those in the south or in France is a very cheap return flight from Paris Bva to Bratislava weds-fri. The same can also be done from Eindhoven or Frankfurt.
Asian betting syndicate was involved......maybe.....alledgedly. I bet a few were getting worried at 3-0 mind ? Lol.
Good research Hattie! The company in France for coaches is called Eurolines and that's how I'm going. From Lyon takes 16 hours and is overnight. The Weds - Fri option was full so I booked Sunday - Friday.. which I prefer cos I'm making a holiday out of it. Sleeping may be difficult, you need a good book and Jake Bugg on the ipod! Return ticket has cost me 238 euros - £200? Accommodation - hostel in Bratislava 3 nights & hotel in Zilina 1 night 90 euros - £75 Trains are cheap, food and drink cheaper than France
TICKETPORTAL it works ... we'll see after the game, whether the decision to go to Zilina been bad or good ... first of all allow us to keep the price of tickets at an acceptable level (in this we hope) ... in addition to the well field will see all the Stadium capacity is higher ... and support bus for € 5 is also quite acceptable ... cheap transport for their fans
So KO if 18.00 UK time and 19.00 Slovakia time. The match should finish at 20.45 and my train leaves at 3.19.
It could be worth asking about a lift on the Club busses. I think they fly out of Bratislava at midnight?
Good idea. I was thinking how the club would get there. I was saying that I would think they could charter a plane straight to Zilina but my wife said it would cost about £500,000! I thought that was rubbish if fans can pay a few hundred for a chartered plane. Didn't they charter a plan for Long to go from Dublin to Leeds and back for about £10k? Bigger plane and distance but surely not that much more. They surely couldn't get a scheduled flight for 25-30 people.
I looked at a private charter flight and I got a quote for £6k for 4 passengers or £10kish for about 10/11/12 (can't remember now) returns. Your nuts getting that return flight peter. Specially for how much the whole things cost you. If I was you I'd just bite the bullet and get a private transfer.
I will be driving from Bratislava to Zilina on the match day and then back to Bratislava sometime after the game. If you (or anyone) needs a lift, just let me know. I will have at least one (and possibly two, if my gf doesn't join me to the game) available places in the car.
It certainly was fun, it just with this one and the Robbo one, you seem to be having a throw back to the good old days.
yea i found that post too, i was trying to find a post about robertson signing, i was just curious as to what was said now he's an apparent champions league player, alas i couldn't find them but i found these two posts while searching and i might have enjoyed my post about profit's along the way
