It's the people that keep on that tend to get it worse. The bigger problem is this site doesn't have a sarcastic smiley, so when I am joking around etc it looks like I am not. I get people being worried, but I don't get people being worried about everything Saints related. It's like some people just paint everything with the same brush. You may be worried but you also have to see Saints are making steps to improve the squad. When some posters start moaning transfers are taking too long etc it does get annoying.
No worries at all...Lambert..Lallana..Shaw..Lovren..Schneiderlin all wanting out is f*ck all to be concerned about?? All fringe and low calibre squad members who won't be missed, any manager worth his salt should be able to upgrade on these donkey's. Silly me, for not thinking logically that not only will our 8th place finish be consolidated but its nailed on we'll push on to the higher echelons of the PL. ps. Schneiderlin wanting out not confirmed but silly me thinks he may well follow suit if offers come in.
Totally agree and that is encouraging. My argument is Koeman has no easy task in effect is replacing too many of our top players.
See we already know you are worried, but yet have to say it again and again. Why be worried over something you can't control? Yes it is annoying players have left but are we close to being liquidated? No. Are we Blackpool with only 8 players? No, have we appointed a crap manage who no one has heard of? No. Why dwell in the negative stuff while plenty of positive stuff is happening too.
What will be will be. You can't stop players leaving so move on. I will only worry if we bring in no ther players, which I can't see happening so I am fine.
I'm slightly worried about the quality of the players we're bringing in, I'll give you that. Forster and some of the CBs we've been linked to as well would calm me down a bit, but my main concern is that we'll just bring half of the Eredivisie over and majorly flop.
Lol plenty more things to worry about in life lol. Yes we would be in a better position if we had kept the players but we haven't lol, so why be negative until we see what happens lol. Lololololol
Its clear we are spreading the net wide. I would just prefer to get them in before august is upon us.
Article that puts blame for the current uncertainty firmly at Katharine Liebherr's door: http://www.givemesport.com/488442-southampton-fans-should-be-pitied-after-summer-rout?autoplay=on Though maybe pity is a bit too much. But then maybe not.
Well that basically is what happened, isn't it. Sure we've heard she was willing to give him a lesser role on the board, but he was ousted from the position he had as far as I understand.
She wanted tighter control of her money and he didn't like it. I see that as no ones fault, Cortese didn't want to accept a lesser role so left. You can't really blame either for Cortese going.
Think half the issue is using emotive words and phrases such as the heart of the team RIPPED out. It's the sort of phrases the red tops use and it is deliberately used to antagonise the reader. I am, like most, pi55ed off with out ex manager and a couple of players. We have really lost Lallana and Shaw at the moment. It's not to say Lovren isn't going or anyone else. Lambert was getting less game time and nobody begrudges his move or are shocked by it. Worried? No I am not. If anything it's exciting. Every new season brings optimism and pessimism to supporters of every club. It's part and parcel of the game. We may be pleasantly surprised next season or maddened as we scrap it out. We just don't know. Wouldn't it be boring if it was so predictable. Worried, not me. I might be come May next year though.
That fight had been brewing for some time, though. It's someone's fault if they didn't have a plan in place to manage the fallout when Cortese was pushed out (or didn't know that there'd be fallout).
Lots of supposition in that article. From what I can see, the players who left would probably have gone anyway, because even Cortese couldn't have offered them Liverpool/ManU wages. Then it talked about the perils of foreign ownership. Yeah, that has been such a let-down the last few years Pity that lazy hack, not us!
Not once have I said in my posts I am worried or said we are close to liquidation?? You post tons more on here than I do and repeatedly say you're not worried?? Christ I've supported this team and been to grounds that don't even exist now for more years than I wish to remember, I'm not trying to be condescending by saying that. My point is, with forty odd years of supporting Saints I am a tad concerned with what the f*ck is going on with the mass player exodus, obviously nothing compared to 2009 when the whole thing looked like it would go tits up.
One odd repercussion of the close season transfers out of Saints happened to me last night. Occasionally, I like to watch highlights of games from previous seasons, and last night I stumbled over a copy of the 90 minutes of the Home Hull City 4-1 match from last season. Normally, I'd get caught up in the action and find myself smiling at the good stuff Saints were showing me. Watching last night, I was as dead as mutton. Watching Lambert, Shaw, etc, left me cold. It was like watching any other club. I felt no connection at all. Odd..!
