Everything about the Vorm deal is strange, from the price to him being content with sitting on the bench.

The guy who cuts my hair is a Spurs season ticket holder and he shares my view that Levy will offload Lloris - the only difference is I said the Jan window he thinks in August!

Could be right , he'll get more for Lloris than he paid for Vorm and on his day Vorm's as good as most in the PL , it's a pity we didn't get to see more of it otherwise he'd still be here.

How about this scenario...

Levy and the Palace chairman bump into each other / get in contact.
They agree that Palace will bid £8m for Siggy to push his price up and put pressure on the Ben Davies deal.

What do Palace get? To keep young Johnnie Williams (who they feel has great potential but wants 1st team football now and knows Swansea will offer it) or at least bump his price up....the significant weakening of one of Palace's relegation rivals....plus another favourable deal for Palace before the summer's out?

Could happen :)

Or we could have held out for a couple of million extra, and lost Gylfi, a quality player who will slot straight into the AM position, to a direct rival in Palace thus strengthening their chances of survival with us scrambling to replace Michu with 3 weeks before the Utd game.

Could have happened :D

In the link I provide a couple of posts up from here you state that the bidding should start for Davies at £12m. Siggy can only be worth £8m because that was what the Spurs accepted from Palace.

So....by your own logic, we have been had over for £4m + <laugh>

No doubt you will say "but we needed Siggy, we couldn't risk him going to a rival....where was Davies 18 months ago <laugh> (not a businessman then) etc."
Well answer me this....

All over this site whilst "waving your knickers in the air" cheerleading Monk you claim that the issue re: Monk's pull in the transfer market has been put to bed...even that he has achieved things in the transfer market that Laudrup couldn't....
So why was Gylfi Sigurdsson the only show in town for Garry Monk?
After all he knew Michu was departing months ago didn't he?

I put it to you that he has just lost this club a lot of money, £6-12m, because he had no alternative up his sleeve to Siggy....he/Jenkins gave control of the price of a valuable asset of ours to Daniel Levy.

Why was that situation allowed to develop?
Monk knew Michu was gone months ago.

Yes and has successfully worked on a deal to allow us to bring Mchus replacement in Gylfi as let's be honest, we've been linked with Gylfi all summer.

Why risk bringing in somebody else when Gylfi was available, with Monk knowing full well he already knows the club and system etc.

Gylfi would have been at the top of the list and we got him. Yet Monk still has trouble bringing players in it seems.
In short, there was no need to look elsewhere as we used Ben to make sure we got Gylfi.

Most would say that the Spurs used Siggy to get Davies and Vorm but what do theyknow... and Siggy knows our past system , we will see how he does under Monk

From an article in the Guardian dated 23rd July,
"Michel Vorm’s move from Swansea City to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £4.5m has been confirmed and the goalkeeper is convinced he will enjoy sufficient game time, despite the competition from Hugo Lloris, the France No1."

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/23/michel-vorm-tottenham-swansea-city-45m

Why do so many people on Not606 immediately believe any old tosh that gets put about provided it makes the Board/Jenkins look stupid? Why do so many assume when they see something that they don't understand, it's the Board/Jenkins being stupid? I do often wonder if some of the 'fans' posting on here are in fact John Hughs in disguise.
