Seriously, he looks like the "After" picture in a Weight Watchers advert. Complete mystery to me why he's not performing consistently at the highest level.
Honestly Tewkes... when i saw him i thought to myself 'that's Andy Reid'. Then i thought no it can't be, cos i genuinely thought he was more stockey that he appeared. Hence why i asked him for his passport so i could verify it was him. Nice fella and wonderful footballer,
There was a couple of nice stories around at the time about his last day at the club and the way he conducted himself during his move. I do understand why he was sold and why he couldn't turn down the offer but lawdy, it killed our season stone dead.
Yeah Tewkes it deffo ruined us... Imo we've never replaced his creativity and flair in midfield for us.
Sorry guy's, but we need to move forward, not backwards. The only past players I would bring in, however, would be a super fit super clive!! or a young energetic Johnny Robinson....oh those were the days.....Mmmm
I agree with you in most instances Kerpowell. However, surely bringing in a fella who was playing in the Premiership last year could never be considered a backwards step.
Varney appeared a much more mature player to be fair. His runs were timed better and he looked more dangerous in the final third (perhaps more so with his crossing than finishing).
Not convinced he would. He'd have to get the ball for a start, rather than spending all his energy fruitlessly chasing down the keeper. Going into league one doesn't suddenly mean you know where the goal is.
Yeah to be fair he wasn't great for us in the Championship, and he hasn't got the strength or ball control to be any better than anyone in this League. It was with Crewe (League One/League Two?) with whom he impressed enough to be signed by us, but its pointless talking about Varney as a) he wouldnt come back to us, and b) I doubt he would drop to anything lower than mid-table Championship.
Hi Guys, just got back from an exciting, think not, shopping trip with Mrs K at Lakeside. I was of course referring to Kish in my earlier comments, re moving forwards not backwards, thanks for pointing that out. I've got footy training tomorrow and hopefully there will be some more news surrounding Danny Green. Fingers crossed its positive stuff. I read today the online version of SLP and it mentions us being interested in another central midfielder. Dale Stephens. Anyone know anything about this fella? It would appear that, apart from an attacking wide player (hopefully Mr Green), we have enough central midfielders. Thoughts.
Andy Reid should be playing for a Premiership team, let alone League One. Having said that, he comes across as the sort of bloke who is happy as long as he can play his guitar and enjoy the craic - and the money is half decent. No to Kish. I didn't really think much of him in his prime to be honest.
If it is true I reckon that's final confirmation Semedo's on his way, and McCormack. By all accounts (and that means by about 2 accounts, as that's all we get these days) he'd be a good addition, but a fee of £350k is being mentioned, and if you add on a 400k fee for Green I'm sure we must be running out of money soon... but then again I guess we have no idea as we don't know whose money it is.
Kish will be back with us next season as a squad player. He might be good to have around, pass on his experience to some of the younger players.
Rifleman do you have inside knowledge? Also, can you enlighten us on your name s'il vous plait?
