Sky sports Jim White says we are closing in on a permanent deal for Chelsea left back Patrick Van Aanholt.....
Looking at his career he must be a back up player, we will need one but there's nothing that will convince me he'll be our no. 1 left back.
Jim White ‏@JimWhite 1m Hearing that #Chelsea left-back Patrick van Aanholt close to joining #Sunderland tonight. Clubs trying to agree fee. http://metro.co.uk/2014/07/24/sunde...chelsea-defender-patrick-van-aanholt-4809571/
We need 2 left backs so whos to say this lads gona be our number 1 choice? Im sure Poyets still gona be looking to bring another one in. The young lad that played there in the second half last night looked pretty decent. Anybody know his name?
Chris Eagles update. He has narrowed his choice to two clubs. SAFC & WBA. Hope the lure of mates JoS & WB gets us this free agent. https://twitter.com/harrmn/status/492351754064134144 Wtf?
Sunderland are closing in on a move for Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt, according to reports. The Dutch youngster has had a succession of loan spells since making his Chelsea debut in 2010, joining the likes of Newcastle, Leicester, Wigan and Vitesse Arnhem, where he has spent the past two and a half years. And with the Blues having replaced left-back Ashley Cole with Filipe Luis last week, Van Aanholt admitted his career at Stamford Bridge had come to an end. ‘Where will I play next season? I don’t know yet,’ said the 23-year-old. ‘It definitely won’t be at Chelsea. I am done here.’ But former Chelsea player Gus Poyet is said to be keen on taking the youngster to Sunderland, with the two clubs haggling over a fee according to Sky Sports News presenter Jim White.
Just been reported on Sky Patrick Van Aanholt is having a late night medical tonight and if all goes well he'll be on the Plane to Portugal with the rest of the squad tomorow. We finally have our own Left back!!!
