    Dundee accept bid for Robertson.

Sorry if it has been posted.

Dundee United have accepted an improved bid from Hull City for Scotland left-back Andrew Robertson.
The 20-year-old will now be able to discuss personal terms with the English Premier League side, who are offering more than £2m plus add-ons.
A Tannadice source told BBC Scotland earlier this week that three approaches from West Ham had been rejected.
And other clubs have expressed an interest in the defender signed from Queen's Park last summer.
Within nine months of making the step up from the Scottish League Two amateurs to the Premiership, Robertson made his Scotland debut in the March friendly against Poland.
He made 46 appearances in his first season with United, scoring five goals, as they finished fourth in the table.
Robertson's performances led to him being voted PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
United have already this summer sold midfielder Ryan Gauld, with the 18-year-old joining Sporting Lisbon for a fee of around £3m.

Another European adventure for him, joining from one of the UK's three cities that can boast two European Cup semi-finalists. (In your face, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham etc.)

    Good to hear.

Out of all the defenders we are currently linked with, he's the one I want most.

Could be very good for us and a sound investment. Could also be gash, but worth a punt I'd say.

If we get him then he looks to be a quality signing.

He is pacey, explosive, wants to get forward, has a good passing range and a good shot.

i can't help but think of Daryl Duffy, the scoring sensation from Falkirk. I hope this kid's decent.

Great news. That was the one position we really needed to fill and this young player is the real deal and we've apparently got him at an appropriate price given his upside potential. This will give Dudgeon further time to find out if he's completely over his knee problems, allow Townsend to get more experience, and presumably make Figgy available for offers which could offset much of the Robertson fee, or stay on as a back up CH where he impressed for Honduras in the WC. Well done once again Steve Bruce!!

Can he defend though?? As I'd have thought this would be his main attribute been a defender

That should be figgy only as CB cover then. Don't mind him on the left side of a back 3 too much. Another young signing!!

The Dundee Utd fans on their forums seem to talk a lot about his attacking ability and a few mention some problems with defensive positioning and awareness, seems quite similar to playing Brady at LB

Aye. The youtube videos posted on here had him making impressive cavalier runs upfield. That's great, but I want my fullbacks to also be able to mark up a man, cover a centre half when required, safely show his opposition wing man down the line and put in a well timed sliding tackle.

**** that stops the other team scoring really.

If we plan on playing him and Elmo as the fullbacks in a back 4 we might concede a lot but it will definitely be exciting football! Looks ideal for a 3-5-2 though

No disrespect to Elmo but I'd rather have Robertson and Rosie as full backs

Even with this potential signing I still think we are pretty light on quality defenders.

I would like to see us sign someone who is at least proven at this level. Not a blow your socks of player but someone who can do a job at a higher level than McShane and Bruce and be real competition for Chester and Davies.

I worry for the season if we don't sign another quality centre back. Its obviously something that Bruce thinks as well because he has already tried to sign two proven and veteran defenders in Lescott and Dawson.

Elmo has no no positional hwareness to be a full back.
Great going forward but defensively poor.

    GREAT signing

Lol at the clueless City fans on FB saying they've never heard of him and he's a waste of time. At 20 he represents tremendous potential and is almost our most exciting signing.

    Hi, Dundee United fan here.

Absolutely gutted regarding Andrew Robertson leaving - well worth more than 2million and it wouldn't surprise me if you managed to make a massive investment out of him considering there were Qpr, Everton, yourselves and West Ham putting in offers for him. He's incredible for his age and one of the best talents I've witnessed at Tannadice Park. Easily the most popular player at Dundee United with next to no bad words ever said about him.

You've managed to get a great player who has broken into the Scotland squad with ease due to his ability to attack and defend.

I will fully be supporting Hull City this season now! Good luck.
