If Monk was useless wouldn't we have been relegated when Laudrup left us 2 points from the relegation zone?
Anytime. Just goes to shows how **** on players playing for clubs in unfashionable nations really are by EUFA and FIFA, doesn't it? Imagine a player scoring for say... Malmo... scoring a hat trick against Lazio in qualifying round two, but then lost in the 3rd qualifying round. Those three glorious game winning goals are resigned to the 'Other' category on his career stats. It's a sorry state of affairs.
Show me why in three years I would miss him, all I see is someone who failed to provide and score goals from a position where it is a requirement. By the way, Lamah played less than the half the games Poz did but produced more. Better still, how could I possibly tell me son in 18 years time that Poz was an instrumental attacker in our Europa League season? He'd go to Wikipedia, or the equivalent, and see he scored nothing and I'd look like a t**t. EDIT: Vasquez played less than half as much as him but contributed the same as Poz. It's true, go check.
Lamah was responsable for more goals going in our net than he scored on opposing teams with his lazy defending . Poz played a better alround game and played with a conscious toward defence .
I won't disagree about Lamah's defensive play, but Poz was responsible for many counter attacks against us and a few going in to our net. That being down to his poor strength mentioned above and not passing when a defender or midfielder moved in on him. He would need to drastically change his individual style of play to be a successful attacking midfielder, unfortunately for him the position he plays is judged solely on two statistics.
Leon, jonjo, Ki, Gylfi, Gomis, bony, Montero, dyer, routs, Emnes and Fulton. For me Poz doesn't get a kick this season as all of these are miles better than him and Fulton looks promising from what I seen of him last season. Looking at those players, where would he fit into our match day squad? He would be with the u21s as he wouldn't have taken one of their match day squad numbers.
I liked Lamah but you really cannot judge him, as he didn't exactly get much game time with us.................
He is so bleeding frustrating lol If he loses the ball he didn't know where to be to get the ball back despite sometimes running his guts off to keep up with the marauding full back, I screamed many times at the TV yelling him to get on the inside and force the player out to the wing . He has an unnerving tendancy to tackle hard in the box as well, but going forward he at times brilliant to watch.
I saw Chico down the Marina tonight. He was with his partner, looking calm and relaxed and with a new item for his flat. He didn't look like a man on a mission to get out of Swansea
Had he nicked the Michu shrine from Swanselona's gaff? I posted ages ago (with some photographic evidence) that Pozuelo had told someone he was off and "taking Canas and Michu" with him so BK's post reaffirms that. Huge personality clash with Monk and I'm afraid he's history because of that. I liked him but as long as we replace with better I'm not bothered.
