Tennessee have introduced a law to bring back the electric chair. That is not good.

I quite agree in principle with your opinion Beefy, but why they use a measured dose of drugs is slightly beyond me.

If they must have the death penalty then make sure the lethal injection is lethal.

I was having a go at the judge. I can't see how dieing for 2hrs can be deemed lawful.

All this on a few months after that guy had the botched execution where his heart basically exploded. They should probably have suspended executions while they sorted that one out...

I should say that I am not for capital punishment and the day it is brought back to our country is the day I leave.

If Dignitas can produce a barbiturate mix taken aurally which is 100% effective then I can't see how these outrages can happen. Maybe it's the desire for vengeance rather than justice which means that they aren't that bothered. Death by hanging would be preferable to this utterly despicable shambles.

Yes, I know you were, and I was picking that up and making a further point.

Just in case you're feeling a touch picked on, please don't immediately think I am criticising you every time I quote a post of yours, Beef.

It wouldn't quite be Joe's 'tales of temping', but it's working in a sort of coffee bar/ice cream parlour.

Oddly the interview is tomorrow and in the equivalent of a Nando's. But hey, there we go.

I did a hell of a lot of bar work before deciding to go into temping. Could have posted many a tale from those jobs if I'd thought of it. Hopefully you'll get some interesting co-workers/customers.

why should we work for free? to line the pockets of greedy corporations even more? by the time I finished uni, I had done many months of free work experience in many different places, we deserve to paid just like everyone else.

Reminds me of when I was paying for the privilege of working. £14 or so pounds a day it cost me. Admittedly, that included lunch which would be about £2 for a bottle of coke

Charities I agree about working for free. Other companies I don't.

What the hell kind of a job was that?

I'm not a huge fan of how companies take advantage of unpaid workers either, but when it's so competitive out there and experience is so valuable, it's worth doing. I generally support proposals to make zero-hour contracts and unpaid internships illegal, but am also wary of the potential downside, which is simply even fewer jobs being available and unemployment levels going back up.

It went down in Mali, apparently. They say they've been having bad sandstorms.
