Sunderland and Everton have been linked with a move for the former Burnley striker but the 25-year-old insists that he is happy to remain in west London. He told the Times: âI am happy at QPR, there is no reason for me to look anywhere else. I am happy to be here.â Austin scored 20 goals last season and admits after seeing Adel Taarabt perform in training he would relish the opportunity to link up with the Moroccan in the top flight. Taarabt, 25, was sent out on loan to Fulham last summer before spending the second half of the campaign at AC Milan â where he is keen to return on a permanent basis. Austin said: âHe has got some skills. If he stays it would be great because it would be great to work alongside someone like that.â Taarabt was left out of the squad which travelled to Germany for two pre-season matches, fuelling speculation that his time at QPR will soon be over â and Austin admits anyone who comes into the dressing room needs to put the team first. He said: âWhen you go on pre -season tour the group becomes closer. I mean thereâs nowhere to go â you eat, sleep and drink together. That will be good for the team.
The article doesn't enlighten us at all as to whether or not Taarabt will stay. But some how I think he will, reluctantly.
No surprise that Charlie would want to play with one of the most talented players in the world. Look how few chances were created for him last year. Think of what Charlie could do with Adel feeding him.
Whom nobody wants ? Talent alone, is nothing; without application and dedication to develop talent; is talent wasted.
I have to wonder if Charlie has been asked to say this to help persuade Adel, by appealing to his not insubstantial ego, to stay. It would be like a new signing if he did.
Rubbish it not precise at all . Taarabt sees a pass way before anyone on the field does The problem would be that Austin or any one apart from Faurlin could read what Adel would do. Taarabt of course will try and score but is able to see opportunities first and he applied them IMO throughout his time with us He has played some of the best passes I have ever seen in football and is the only player i have seen for years who can pass the ball into the net. He is one of the most composed players I have ever seen so to say he doesn't pass in the final third is complete rubbish
And that is why all the big clubs in Europe are breaking down our door, to take Adel at our valuation of £6mil ??? A mere snip !! Less than Fer mmmm ??? DT is right ? OR...maybe, just maybe ? He aint quite as good as you think ? Including all his baggage !!
I think the likes of Taarabt and Cesar could turn up hours early for training, run marathons, bake cakes for their team mates and would still be out in the cold. It seems, once you're out you're out - no Barton-esque reprieves for anyone (he'd already been loaned before Redknapp joined). The one thing you can read from Charlie's comments is that Taarabt hasn't been disruptive in training and, personally, I'd think it would be worth seeing what he's learnt from last season. The players frozen out unsurprisingly bite and say things (they're in a no-win situation) and then we leap on them and demand they crawl off humbly with their tails between their legs whilst likening them to the devil incarnate. This is a situation that we put on ourselves as a club and I'd prefer it if everyone is given a clean slate each season. If we want rid of players for horrendous attitude, get rid - there's always ways to ship people and cut ties completely but we can only expect the bad eggs to fester if we leave them in a dark corner and eventually they will infect everyone else. If the players aren't so bad that we obliterate every link from them to the club then I think we should try and see what we can get from them (either performances or a transfer fee from keeping them fit and letting them play if we need them). The principle of putting players effectively on gardening leave may make a point but I don't think it benefits us in the slightest.
And this is entirely what i meant when i posted about people making excuses for players that just cant cut it....facts are he hasnt done it at top level..get over him and move on mate 6 managers at 5 top clubs must be wrong...even if he can bake a cake or 2.... keep the comedy coming boys ,ok>
Yes, but here we are - there might be buyers or he could prove useful to us. Either way, why not take him to Germany, why not keep Cesar fit and at least ready as a sub for the whole of last year? What is the benefit to us of not doing so? We just end up with lingering spectres hanging round the club who would have nothing to do but be resentful to the club. Incidentally, I made no excuses for anything - just think it would be better to incorporate him and either play him or sell him. If he becomes disruptive then release him immediately.
Agree Q, Just dont understand why, some people want to keep blaming everyone else, but their man is entirely innocent, picked on even, not given a chance. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary ? Nothing wrong with having an opinion about a player, then when evidence grows, accept the player hasnt performed to the level expected ? And just except it ? and move on. With all the talent Adel has, it is desperately sad, he is not performing at a top European club, dazzling all with his skills - a tragedy
