F1 seats are like golddust, and I'm still not convinced that Alguersuari can cut it. But he has definitely earned the right to some more time. Hopefully most of the rest of the season.

I really dont know. Saturdays I would say he is useless but he seems to pull it out of the bag in the race. I think maybe some time out for a year as a red bull test driver is what he is missing in his carear. he has been rushed to F1

No, Buemi is better and Ricciardo looks like he might have some potential.

Well a couple of good results will certainly have upped his stock. However, the real question is whether he is performing any better than Ricciardo would if he were to replace him.

Kudos to Jaimie though for bouncing back from his bad qualifying these last two races.

Yes, his car is poor yet he's been able to score points. Great performance today, he did so well to hold off sutil at the end despite having a slower car.

Give him a bit longer, he was pretty good today and if he can keep it up I can see him being in the points more often than not.

Give him more time. His qualifing has been **** and it is now 7 cars you can count on going out in Q1, but in the race it seems different. At least in the last 2. Give him 3 more races then it should be clearer.

raced well today, as he did last week in Canada. Maybe he's one of those people who needs his back against a wall to get the best out of him.

He done well today, but i think if he has a few more bad Quali's and 15th - 16th place finishes, Riccardio will be taping him on the back.

Jaime did very well yesterday but in Canada he also drove from eighteenth to eighth without the TV coverage he received yesterday. Canada was also a very challenging track in extremely difficult conditions, in which many more experienced drivers were struggling. I think Buemi should be watching his back: he's older, has more experience and still shows nothing special.

Also, I would have thought that Jaime is exactly the kind of man who suits Red Bull/Toro Rosso's image: he's young, good-looking, photogenic and eloquent with excellent English. Outside F1 he's a DJ and makes his own music, just the kind of stuff that would appeal to Red Bull's fun, party image and Red Bull's core business, of course, is selling stay-awake drinks to partying types.

I remember last season watching him sparring with Schumacher on several occasions and thinking he may have something. I'd like to see him succeed and I hope he keeps driving the way he is now and improving. The testing ban is prolonging the careers of the old guard while the youngsters are not getting enough chance to develop before they are cast aside. I think it may be true that Jaime was brought in too early and he's learning the hard way but he is clearly improving. I don't see the same from the more experienced Buemi and I don't understand why people rate Ricciardo so highly when he has shown us nothing yet. But Toro Rosso have a reputation for dumping their drivers mid-season and the media have been going for Jaime lately; I noticed the BBC have suddenly changed their tune!

Must try harder in quali, though :)

The court is still out regarding Jaime. He's performed well at the last 2 grand prix's but Buemi was beating him at every race before then. It's 6-2 to Buemi at all the GP's but equal on points.

He's pushing hard but he is making many mistakes so I'll still put my money on Jaime being the guy to be replaced by Daniel.

Well he was also on for eighth place in Monaco before the pile-up; he qualified seventh in Shanghai and his middle name's Víctor so he's born to be a winner, really :)

<laugh> ¡La puta que te parió! I'm not as old as my avatar suggests, thank you!

Although, yes, I am technically old enough to be his dad :)

You're right with the looks, Buemi reminds me of a horror film actor from the seventies, not the best image you want to put forward for your team!

Yeah, I agree about Buemi. Lugubrious looks is about as nice as I could be and he definitely has something of the night.

Still, F1's not a beauty contest yet, results are still what count and right now they're level pegging. Maybe Ricciardo will have to wait...
