    Right you bunch of ninkingpoops!

Twisting on about merging threads, take a look on page 2, you say decent debate starts on new threads and they get merged and lost, no they dont, the same comments get made and the debate gets lost as the main debate is on the other thread, we've stopped merging and **** has gone arl ower the shop for my liking.

We put alot of time and effort into this place out of love for the forum, want it messy fine, want it like a well oiled machine? Happy to help

    Whats it gonna be?

Has a time and a place imo, just not all the time...

e.g. The "Hartlepool" and "Live audio tonight's match" could be merged without confusing things as they basically say the same thing and the conversation on one stopped at the start of the commentary which is where the other kind of took off.

But if you then try to hoy the "Mandron and Honeyman" thread in as well it gets confusing (for me at least but then I'm a daft ****er )

I don't get the point of merging, I like individual threads, they may have different twists and slants, this is just a forum, it is what it is, I'm happy to comment on more than one thread. I like the transfer news sticky but it's great to see the separate threads as I can read the ones I'm interested in. I don't know why people feel the need to merge unless the thread creator asks......

I've gotta ask, are you lads really happier to see 3,4 or 5 articles about the exact same subject?

Is it a big deal to look down the page and add to an existing?

Mod or not, it annoys me, we had 3 Borini articles with the exact same content, same with Alonso we had 2, and that's on top of the transfer thread, where the stories had already been posted.

I personally agree with WMS merging threads on the same topic, unless I'm missing some hidden benefit of clogging up the pages with the exact same thing.

Regarding stickies, EVERY SINGLE ONE on the home page was either requested by a non-mod or discussed in an article.

I'd never agree with merging on articles of different subject of course, didn't know the Honeyman thread had been put into a match feed..

It hasn't, I was just giving an example. Because the match thread went on a bit of a slant towards commenting on the youth setup and whether some of the younguns are ready etc and I've seen similar things happen before when it's gotten a bit "merge-happy" i.e. very loosely related articles making completely separate points getting merged because the content is "sort of similar" - that's when I think it gets on people's tits.

it only gets on peoples tits when they lose the thread as being the author imo, this is new i'll start a new thread, when in most cases its not new its already been posted but get excited and cant be arsed to look to see if its already been done.

its daft, as i think comm calls it, **** slips to the abyss that is page 2

There is now't wrong with merging WHEN ITS APPROPRIATE - sometimes threads are being merged just for the sake of it. This subject is being treated as a black and white area which it isn't. There that's twice I have been sensible(ish) this year and that's the finish for 2014

No it bores the tits of me, i'm sick of reading about Borini and Alonso, why i've hardly been on.

Plus a pm i had, pissed me off.

It's hard to get decent posters from other clubs, yet we had a great one in Typical Terry, a very clever bloke. Seems one of you have pissed him off, and he wasn't on here trying to wum folks, nor look for a internet bickering session with any SAFC lads.

So in order to try and avoid any ill feelings, he has left, for a while. But says thanks to nearly everyone, for making him feel welcome, especially funky (he tried to pm you, but inbox full).

Don't know whats gone on, ( i know the poster involved) but damn shame to lose people like that, some of his debates with gonads were usually way above my head (clever ****es they are),

but you are one of the persons wanting a board which is not so restricted ,i challenged him on his critical views of our club and manager etc and he gets the hump ,,then the funky dick butts in acting like hes a mod ,funky dick has me on ignore (big deal) so cant terry also press the same button, terry done the name calling not me ,and i did apologise as well to him ,i dont see too many others on here doing the same ,so now a utd supporter is sulking because he didnt like being pulled on his comments,i have not liked some of your comments have i but we are both still on here ,both of them should stop acting like babies and man up i think is your advice to others

I think our current set of mods are pretty good when it comes to what t and when to merge threads. However, it is an impossible task to please everyone at all times..

Ironic that you've often accused me of arguing with people and driving away posters from other clubs Stu.

As it happens, Terry has contributed more in the way of football analysis, transfer news & general god humour than many Sunderland posters.

    Big shame that he's gone.
