That is why it was kept quiet (one of the Tongan's has a Celtic flag!)... Do you reckon that Alec Salmond will do a rap to finish off.

Incidentally, why are all the flag bearers huge - are they really heavy?

Soon to be independent I guess? Just pulling your leg, can you not hear the bells ringing. A bit difficult for the Reds to do a St Andrews Cross but no doubt it could have been arranged.

As for Celtic supporters being happy, well if they let us have the two players we are after I will wish them all the happiness in the World.

I suspect the vote will be NO come September. Whatever it is, it will be the choice of those who live in Scotland - and we are not all Scottish ! Anyway, this has nothing to do with the games, and I`m looking forward to some good sport.

It may not be on the athletes minds, however I am sure that a lot of politicians will be trying to tap into that nationalism during these games.

It is good to see people pleased to just be there...this is about sport after all. I always hope that every country gets some medal, but of course not always possible when your population is tiny. Sorry for the Isle of Man who lost their top cyclist in the Tour due France...whose name I forget. Cavendish? Going to enjoy the games...take my mind off Saints.

I have to say that although I found it all odd, in glad we say and watched it as a family. My children were commenting and asking questions about the various countries and the outfits, so form that point it was good and we had a family education session.

The bad bit about that was I released my 13 year old is cleverer than me!

Beyond belief. I don't support capital punishment (the polite euphemism for state sanctioned murder) but if they are going to do it you would think that would have gotten good at it by now. Barbaric. They should be ashamed of themselves-but they won't.

The Governor of Arizona's comments: "By eyewitness and medical accounts he did not suffer. This is in stark comparison to the gruesome, vicious suffering that he inflicted on his two victims, and the lifetime of suffering he has caused their family."

Hmmm, nice attempt at justifying an execution taking 2 hours. But to be fair, if the European companies who provided the drugs before hadn't refused to supply America with them, this wouldn't be happening. America should suspend carrying out executions for the moment though.
