You're mental. You do realise this is the only chance you'll ever get to see Hull City AFC play in Europe for the first time ever right? Why would you pass that opportunity up? Or are you somebody who just uses City to see the big names?
hi all, i realy want to go to the game and am trying to sort out a travel, the mimi bus trip mentioned for £100 pluse add ons i would think, can you tell me the details please as would arrange a bus full myself, or join the trip if any places. cheers
Not arsed about this 'first ever game' nonsense, we'll win and win easily, like i said i'm going to the play-off round 2 weeks later, not everyone can flounce off to some remote ****hole twice in the space of 2 weeks.
Afraid I won't be going. I'd have probably driven it if I could but I have a holiday to Ayia Napa booked that I need money for. Damn
I wil be on honeymoon and my wife-to-be doesn't care much for the idea of me deserting her half way through. If I had known when we arranged the wedding etc, I woud have insisted on a pre-nuptual agreement.
You're gonna miss a really big opportunity here to show her whose the boss so put ya foot down now. City has to come first
I went over the border from Poland in 2000 and I thought it was Slovenia (my geography usually isn't bad but I got the names mixed up!) but now I realise it was Slovakia. It was a very poor country then but with some magnificent buildings.
I think it's important to get to the first ever game if possible. I wanted it in some "remote ****hole" rather than some easy to get to place. I like how CTWD have come up with a trip starting from Heathrow but I don't like the idea of sharing a hotel room for two days so car, plane, bus and train for me. Pity I couldn't fit in a horse, boat and bicycle!
Just changed my hotel booking from Trençin to Zilina.. town of 85,000 looks pretty with its mountain backdrop
What hotel have you booked? Room number too please. I may want to sneak in for a free couple of nights!
The manager at our local starbucks is from Slovakia and comes from near Zilina. She is going to give me a list of places to go. I hope it includes the football ground! Practice the pronunciation so you don't sound too silly. It took her a while to understand what I was saying! http://www.forvo.com/word/žilina/ A waitress in our local Nando's is from Slovakia, too.
http://www.slovak-republic.org/food/ Think a pack-up may be advisable. The Tokaj may be acceptable though.
I looked at the menu in a Zilina hotel which was part of an international chain and I was expecting expensive international cuisine and it was the sort of stuff you'd expect in a cafe - the pictures of the restaurant were nice though.
I would have loved to have gone but I can't take days off work with a weeks notice and drop £500 like i drop a turd.
first you put your photo up in grand style and now your soliciting me before I even have the room number!
One's establishment is called Econo Hotel.. 3 star good write-ups.. 35 euros incl breakfast.. but that's as much info as i'm giving out..
Imagine Peter waiting in the bushes outside your hotel at 3 in the morning, as you stagger in drunk, how could you say no!!
