Can't recall people moaning when Brendan got animated when he was our Manager. In fact one of my abiding memories of Brendan was him sprinting along the touch line when Pratley got the third against Forest.
"Bony is desperate to talk to Liverpool" Who the **** says? A throwaway line that probably means "I believe he would be desperate to talk to Liverpool". Absolute garbage with no direct quote from anyone. Journalistist giving opinion based on guesswork imo. In fact, Bony would be bonkers to go there now with the strikers they've signed in a desparate bid to replace Suarez.
Histrionics is not indicative of anybody's level of care or in anyway correlated with that person's ability to achieve an objective. It merely indicates that they are not in control of themselves and or the situation.
In that moment, Rogers was celebrating. The job well done. Forest were beaten, the game over. Rogers never or very seldom ever overtly lost his **** on the touchline. That doesn't mean he wasn't happy or seething inside, but he was always, or appeared to be, in control of himself and therefore in the best position to influence to the greatest degree possible what was going on in front of him.
Bony is going no where lads, not unless the big clubs stump up £25 Million! We took the gamble that they wouldn't, and he made the step up to the Premier League in some style, so if they want him they will have to pay our valuation, or bugger off!.................... Ivor I have answered you on another thread regarding the transfers of Siggy and Gomis IE: Laudrup.
I wouldn't have used a pejorative term like histrionics to describe it. But then I don't seek to denigrate our manager our board at every opportunity like quite a few on here. I'll leave you to it.
Got be honest, when a game was a bit boring at the end of the season it was quite numerous watching Monk gesticulating and shouting then cut the players taking no notice what-so-ever. There is definitely a Marmite feeling about this season.
Lets look at the positive. Each and every manager we have had as taken us on step up each time. Whether it was a huge leap in success or minor adjustments based on what was needed at that time. I cant say I was exactly jumping with joy with Monks appointment but then again I had never heard of Rogers pre Swans either. The one thing we do know is that Monk hasn't come into the job as someone new from outside and trying to implement his own style. I am confident that he has seen what has worked and what hasnt under Martnez/Sousa/Rogers/Laudrup era and as a good coach will be able to apply those changes now that he has the chance to bring in the players that he feels/needs to implement this. Then again it could all go to rat **** and we will be in League 2 by 2017 lol
We need to keep building the squad. Last season for a variety of reasons we underperformed and for a while were in the relegation battle. Even if we assume that the players remaining from last season get back to their old higher standards we have to strengthen or we won't be going anywhere.
