    .... goalmouth scrambles?

I used to love seeing players flailing around smashing the ball against each other with the keeper flapping around on the ground <laugh>

Or when the pitch is waterlogged, the ball stops and the player continues his run. Damn underground heating, its done away with waterlogged pitches!

Remember the Baseball Ground, Smug? Now that was a proper pitch <laugh>

Just reading the Brian Clough book, 'Nobody ever says thank you', and he's moaning about the pitch.

On one of the photos, it's so bad you can only see Willie Carlin from the knees up <laugh>

Its all the wrestling at corner kicks that amazes me. And there is always a player who parks himself infront of the keeper. First player I saw doing it was Ashley Young (say no more) for Watford at our place about seven seasons ago. It just isn't cricket!

The reason this never happens any more is that referee's have decided any touch on the keeper is a foul. You can't put the ball in that area any more as the keeper will either come and get it, or try to come and get it and earn a foul when he doesn't.

I once had a goalmouth scramble when I was walking a bird home from the nightclub and we took a shortcut over a local football ground
