I know we're Saints fans but Hull isn't North East. It's just East like Grimsby, York, Lincoln etc. or 'Yorkshire and the Humber' to give it it's true regional name.
Gus Poyet: "I sat down with Lee [Congerton - Head of Recruitment] and we had quite a unsuccessful and frustrating chat. I feel that I'm not getting the players that are essential for me to do my job. I said there's something wrong within this club and it's still there, I'm not sure what else I can do to change it." "I heard that Paolo Di Canio had a similar experience with the last person that was employed to make the transfers and that didn't work out for Sunderland." "It seems like it's happening all over again. I was promised a few things before I signed my new contract and they are not being delivered. That is frustrating for me and my staff and I now seriously need to take a step back and evaluate my role at the club."
Jesus, he doesn't keep things to himself does he? Badmouthing people at the club doesn't tend to end well for the manager. Their recruitment policy has been shocking for a while though, it's true.
Wow thought they had turned the corner... Now they are imploding again. I was worried about Southampton, it is going to take a while for our side to settle and I think we have an average squad until we get some more players in and I think History Repeating nicely summarises everything. I would be very worried if I was a West Brom fan as they lack firepower. We could do with another striker and then we should be ok.
Just another reason why I can't stand that man. Whether he has issues with his club or not, learn to deal with them in a civil and professional manner. Stop bleating, resign and get down the job centre you horrible man.
A lot of people refer to Yorkshire as NE. It's north and its east, so understandable that some people call it NE. I've heard east Anglia referred to as SE and parts of it are further north than Northampton, which is East Midlands.
The actual region named 'North East' starts Darlington/Middlesborough/Redcar. Hull is way further down nowhere near teeside. Hull is closer to the East Midlands region than it is the North East Region. please log in to view this image
Depends on the scale you use. Draw a line from Southampton straight up and another from Kings Lynn straight across; you'll have NE, NW, SE and SW It's hardly a crime to say its NE.
Maybe not to someone who doesn't live in Hull!!! Maybe someone from Hull will chime in and tell you if they would ever consider themselves from the North East. I don't know. I consider Lincoln to be East. The Midlands is such a vague term but hey ho, its semantics and not really worth us arguing over
Was never very good at Geography but its very simple really, everyone living above Winchester are Northerners. Solved.
Lol, what happened to the Watford Gap divide Seems there are fewer of us 'Southern Softies' than I previously thought and my Romford born Mum will be a 'not so proud' Northerner
