"All's well that ends well". Especially a Bell-end. Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. How did your finals results turn out ?
The shower sprayed right up my arsehole last night. Don't drop your shower gel, the fear is warranted. I'm glad you were back to share this revelation with us Ricardo, you've missed too many.
It seems a common theme for getting ill at the end of uni. Let's hope I manage to finish uni healthy! Glad your awful few months are over
Former WWE commentator, Jim Ross, suffers from Bells Pallsy on a regular occurrence. If you watch videos of him on YouTube, sometimes it's like his mouth is barely moving. Could be somebody to get some advice off if this kinda thing happens again? Drop a tweet or something. But wishing you a strong recovery Ric!
I didn't. Although by that point I've had enough and didn't bother going in. Probably explains why I missed out on a First by 0.3% overall haha
Both my uncles suffered from Bell Palsy. Although no where near what you went through. Glad you're on the mend.
Welcome back! I also knew someone who had Bel's Palsy and spent 6 months off work, (although he was renowned for taking 2 or more weeks off with a sore throat).
Gentle hugs Ricardo Good to hear your getting better just make sure you take it easy and Don't push yourself to hard Those steroids sure can ferk you up BUT they can do a magical job somehow . A posative thing about having had a nasty illness is life suddenly become good Everyday once in recovery All the best to you I am sure your going to loads and loads of Great Times from now on Ps Charlie 1 Think of you often and hope that everything is going well for you.. your a lovely lady .All the best ALWAYS x pps All the best Canada tiger hope everything goes good for you
My mate once suffered a bout of bells palsy. Fortunately for him it wasn't as serious as yours. When he told us the story he said he woke up in the night unable to move one side of his face. His immediate thought was 'no, not a stroke, I'm too young for this'. Obviously we all pissed ourselves laughing when he told us. I was wrong to do so. By the way, they do make a 25mg Prednisone tablet and also a 5mg soluble tablet. So considering your trouble swallowing tablets it's a bit ****ty you weren't made aware of these options.
geez, that's a bloody horrific few months and we thought youd changed your allegiance to kilmarnock fc must have been throughly frightening, glad everything's okay though! Stay safe, #1 importance is health
I had glandular fever followed by Bell's palsy in my mid-20s. it doesn't sound anywhere near as bad as Ric's though and nothing was prescribed. It took a month or so for it to totally go. The only real thing I remember was it made drinking a pint at the pub really hard as you had to drink through one side of your mouth. Oh, and my mates took the piss constantly, and I failed to pull much.
Welcome back Ric, it sounds terrifying. I know your old man so I'll ask after you next time I see him.
Yes, that reminds me. One of the things you obviously do when you hear the name of something is go and Google it, and one of those results is always the celebrities who've had it. With Bells Palsy on the one hand you have George Clooney and Pierce Brosnan. On the other you have Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sylvester Stallone. I tried to ignore the last two. For those asking about the uni. I didn't have to complete all the modules, they used my other ones to determine the level I graduated at so my degree level didn't suffer. For accounting though as you complete different modules you also get exemptions from professional exams in those areas which they obviously couldn't cover me for as I hadn't done it. The situation is a bit annoying because I wasn't really too bothered about the degree level, I was doing it because it's a fully funded (student loans etc) way of getting those exemptions, where if you do the professional exams themselves you have to pay your own way through, so although I've got my degree it has meant the last few months haven't contributed much (although I at least still had some income thanks to the loans). What is fortunate is that the exemptions I've missed out on are high level things. I want to work in the more basic side of it with little companies where you're more involved with your clients and can see the benefits, rather than being part of a big team working on a huge company's accounts where you make more money for yourself but you're just really looking at numbers on a screen.
i haven't googled it purely because i have the type of anxiety where if i googled it, i'd start worrying that i might have it
Thanks FILEY. Everything is going well. I've cut way back on my consulting work (about time) and am smelling the roses and really enjoying what Brucie is doing building our squad. So excited about the coming season. All the best to you and Charlie and Ric too.
