Redmond as impact sub would be good.

Anyone know if Rojo is actually any good at centre back? For the majority of Argentina matches it was his bombing forward which attracted attention as they dominated much of the early games.
He sounds like a good option if three at the back was a proposition for the future too.

Rojo, De Vrij & Forster. Been a good day for rumours in

I really don't think having players who are only good as impact subs is a good idea. Every player needs to be capable of playing well for a whole game, not just the last 15. I'm sure we'll be doing plenty of squad rotation as players will be gelling and if Redmond would be crap as a starter we should go for someone else.

Rather have him in the bench then Isgrove.

Well if the choice was between Isgrove and Redmond, then yes, but hopefully it isn't and we can get someone else in. I wouldn't mind Redmond here but would like another winger in aswell

Surely we couldn't get Rojo? Would be an incredible signing.

    Let me spare everyone's disappointment;

There's no way we could afford his wages when a big club inevitably matches our bid.

    Jumping the proverbial gun

    Out

Shaw, Twatbeard, Sir Rickie, Cock Womble - £75m

    In

Tadic, Pelle, Rojo, De Vrij - £40m

Thats replacements in and a nice budget of £35m to build a stronger squad, starting with Forster.

Obviously lots still to complete but that's not a horrendous outcome to a pretty turbulent summer

No harm in trying tho. You never know until you actually make a bid.

Judging by what other teams seem to be spending this summer I would hope that we would still have about £55-£60m for more squad strengthening if this scenario happened

Other than another striker I don't think we would need to spend 7 figures on other players. Plenty of talent out there for lower values.

Not a fan of the loan option, but Gnabry sounds good when compared to Isgrove or a potentially over priced Redmond

If Redmond didn't have a good game against us then I'm willing to bet far fewer Southampton fans would be keen on him.

I'm not overly keen but having Isgrove as back up scares me.

He has stood out for the u21s, but not against amazing opponents. There is talent, but I think a season in the championship would be good for him
