Some interesting comments by Dundee/Spurs fans re: Robertson v Rose http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=196&fid=101&sty=2&act=1&mid=2110921262 Robertson sounds more promising and cheaper
SB said on SSN before kick off v Ferriby , we have NOT made a bid for Rose , we have bids in place for 1 or 2 players and waiting to see what materialises . He never used the phrase 'irons in the fire' . That'll be Maguire and Robertson then .
With the distraction and main focus of last week being the new shirt and sponsorship I am hoping we get some movement on some signings soon. This isn't out of impatience but because the quicker we get them in the quicker: - Time to get to know their new team mates. - Time for family to settle in the area. - Time to build up fitness and have a pre-season with their new team mates having some match time in friendlies. - More likely it is they fit into the first team for the first matches of the season. I know plenty of clubs haven't done much business but I believe it is much better if you can to get your business wrapped up sooner rather than later.
The problem is that some targets are reliant on other business. Steve Bruce knows that he has to clear out some players as well. Putting out two teams on the same night shows the squad size is ok, but maybe some adjustments still need to be made and players will move on.
Not necessarily... we potentially play so many more games this season. Would hate to get relegated due to lack of available players. Go for a big squad this season and shift the unimpressive players next season... unless we win the Europa
HDM quotes S.B as saying `the one thing nobody will do is catch us with our pants down,I`m too long in the tooth for that` Good to know eh?
As long as he doesn't say "Once they cross the white line" and "step up to the plate" which used to get on my nerves every time Browny said it I don't mind.
Yes until Dawson gets his wish with Spurs/Levy. The ball is now with Mr Levy at this moment in time. In fact Dawson should tell Levy that if i am still at Spurs when the window shuts then i shall see out my contract and leave for nowt when it ends. More than likely i would suggest. Utter nonsense ^^^^^ this. Dudgeon may go out on loan(for a short term) to gain much needed match fitness but SB will need all he has and more especially if we progress in all 3 cups. EL group stages and we shall play 50 games minimum this season. Factor in injuries and suspensions as well.
I'd give Dudgeon his assurances that he is welcome but send him out on loan after the pre-season on a 3 month loan until the January transfer window with the chance of been recalled if we need him.
