I was thinking about Keegan the other day, i will always admire him as for what he did
to our beloved club and how he made us into a real force.
Just think back finishing out of the top 5 would be a disaster back then i would take that now tho.

However looking back to the 95/96 season when we LOST the league, we dropped some silly points ie the 4.3 at anfield maybe if when we got it back to 3.3 we should have shut up shop rather then go for the winner and gained a point

Our home record that year was ace only losing 4 points all season 3 to man utd and 1 to spurs on the last day of the season however if we were less cavailer going forward away from home then we would have been stronger at the back.

Keegan stated its attacking football or he goes but looking back would ferguson, wenger and jose have had that thought process NO.
Keegan was given a crazy amount of money, i still think is is great but maybe a better manager would have took us further.

I still wish Sir bobby replaced keegan rather then 2 years later as imagine him with that squad and not daglish's dross, but sir bobby did not want to walk out on his team which shows what a great and honest man he was.

IMO if he would have stayed at the club, we would have stayed up. And he let us down. For that I don't forgive him.

No, from day one of that season we were going down. No manager would have saved us

I don't think we'd have gone down with KK, though that really doesn't matter anymore.

We'd probably have finished mid table and continued that way for a while, with expensive signings. Carroll wouldn't have got a look in if we'd stayed up and did well. Martins, Viduka, Owen (might have stayed) and a new striker to propel us into Europe would've been above him in the pecking order.

It sounds like rhetoric and it is asinine, but going down was the best thing for us. Now we're gradually becoming a stable club, with youth and exciting talent. We're a completely different team to what we were. We'd been dying for years since Sir Bobby left and now we've been reborn.

Keegan is not a legend at this club in my eyes. He's let us down twice now. Something true legends have never done. Bobby, Milburn, even Hughton.

To be fair he said he wanted to build a team around Milner and then Ashley sold him behind KK's back. Ashley also put the full squad up for sale against Keegans wishes. Ashley signed players that KK didn't want (Xisco, from youtube! & Gonzalez (spelling) as a favour to some dodgy agent!). To be fair I'd consider walking away from that if I was the manger!
