Yeah but I didn't. So what i'm saying is right isn't it? I only speak for myself and others don't speak for me. Just because some daft people slagged your manager off for losing that game doesn't mean I have does it? Anyway using a your defeat to take the piss is hardly the same as bigging up a player for his early pre season form is it? Ones a laugh and the other is serious yet completely bizzare.

Ok I've just read the thread you're on about and two Sunderland supporters had a dig and that was the OP and it was CalmCumbrian who's bizarre to say the least and Smug who's sole intention is to take the piss and have fun for ffs <laugh> The other person to have a dig was a united fan, everyone else was taking the piss out We Were Lucky and just the club in general, no reference to Pardew or the result.

    Many <laugh>

Losing Cabaye was the biggest dent in their chances, but they've bought sensibly over the past few years and there's no reason to suppose this summer will be any different. But Colback just went home, so it's a bit much to be spouting the "amibitious club going places" line. Given the choice between Cabaye (nasty twat though he was) or Colback in MF, I know who I'd have taken (clue: not the ginge :))

It's exactly the same, one references the form of a team and the other references the form of a player, in short both have been judged on friendly performances.

Anyway, it appears you've taken my post far too seriously seeing as I never actually accused you of having a pop over a friendly (yet you've decided to defend yourself against accusations that weren't there).

As stated by both of us (something we finally agree on), friendlies are pointless and no player, club, manager etc should be judged on them. And the Colback story is a non starter, just a journalists publishing a misleading headline to get people to reard his/her story.

Don't care about Colback, less so of his opinions.

The Toon have bought well, he being the weakest of the signings.

    He's also Ginger.

I agree totally - I remember when we finished 7th twice in a row we hardly scored pre-season let alone won! Every time we've had a good pre-season we've ended up having a **** season and, normally, vice versa! They are meaningless games but good to be involved in to raise cash for smaller clubs (like Hartlepool, Carlisle & Darlington) but, at the end of the day, they are only there to serve a purpose and, regardless of final results, that is all they'll do

You will care when Sunderland midfield 3 are cattermole, Larsson & Bridcock for the start of the season.
