keep those 2 and ox fit and you have a very nice setup if you include wilshere,ramsey and ozil. your problem or concern will be keeping them fit and fresh for a whole season. hope i am wrong, but i fear this time round we will be on the end of an ass whooping.
Yes. But equally there are some stats that are worth something. It's a fact that no-one set up more scoring chances for Germany than Ozil at the world cup. That's not simply scoring one goal in one game.
But Suarez wanted to leave and wanted to go to a big club like Barca or Real. Question is... do Hummels and Reus want to leave like Suarez did? And even if they did, would they want to currently move to any other club other than Barca, Real or Bayern? Possibly PSG or City for the money but other than those five I just can't see it.
Not ******ed at all, just dont give a **** what players get paid. Especially when a lot of the time, reports of the wages that a player gets are quite often bull ****. Again the media put [Insert player name here] has signed a new 5 year deal with [Insert club here]. It is understood that [player name] new contract is worth £200.000 per week. It is understood is it? All I understand is that people who obsess over this **** need taking out and shooting. Probably the same mouth breathers that watch Jersey Shore and The Only Way is Essex
We could go round in circles over this and I'm not going to do that. Neither am I going to say something I don't mean for the sake of an argument. I think Ozil is a really good player, it's just that I don't think he's been as good recently as I expected him to be, that's all. There again, I don't watch his every game so I might be missing something. This brings up a broader issue. Big-name foreign players brought to the PL are expected to set the league alight. More often than not they fail to do that- it doesn't mean they're bad, just that too much is expected of them. This is why I'm really not bothered if we don't get a "marquee" signing, a well-balanced team of good players can be just as effective as one with a sprinkling of star names.
Nobody is obsessing and the actual number is irrelevant all you need to do is understand that if a players is ever sold for less than someone your own team has bought it doesn't mean they were cheaper overall or your club thinks the player with the higher transfer fee is better. I don't give a **** about the £5m or so we overpaid for Lallana like some people but I do understand that Hummels' wages will be about 4-5 times Lovren's plus he's older so if their transfer fees are the same it doesn't mean the players cost the same or that Liverpool think Lovren is better.
To some extent and that might get you the odd one-off cup (see Swansea, Portsmouth, Wigan, Birmingham etc)... but when was the last time anything significant was won by a well-balanced team without any marquee signings playing for them?
Perhaps you don't, but the people that run clubs do, because it makes a big difference to their financial viability. This is obvious, and a refusal to see it is just plain daft. Perhaps it's because you've been owned by a sugar-daddy for whom money is no object for too long? This is not the reality for most.
That's also why I wasn't bothered about Sanchez. I wouldn't turn him away for a sensible price but the World Cup hype, being seen as a direct replacement for Suarez, a big fee, and being a smaller player coming to a more physical league just has potential for flop (or just disappointing) written all over it. A lot of this doesn't apply to Arsenal though since he's not a replacement and so can be given a bit more time to adapt.
Hames off to Madrid for £63m. Could make a few players available, Khedeira, Isco, Di Maria, Jesse? Also see Borinis agent claiming he wants to stay and fight and not afraid of the people ahead of him. Gutted as all that'll happen is he doesn't play much, wants to leave next year and we only get about £7m for him!
£14m is very high and next summer he'll be going into his final year of the contract so even £7m would be lucky
i hope borini isnt on silly wages, as i cant see how he thinks he is good enough to get in front of Sturridge,Lambert and remy if/ when we sign, and also have this origi chap on loan hopefully. 4th choice option at best 5th more likely, sounds like he is clinging onto money.
I can't blame him for thinking a small chance of CL football is much better than zero but hopefully he's just maximising his personal terms and will see sense. It's not a great tactic to get Sunderland fans on his side by looking to snub them but maybe he thinks they'll forgive him for what he did last season anyway. #hope
Rodgers needs to tell him to go. If he stays he at the least should go on loan again to another top tier side
Di Maria gave the ball away 52 times in one game before scoring the winner and being voted MOTM. If you concentrate on the latter points, he appears to have been good.
