It did indeed Kempton. Owned by local musician Tony Beasty and now running as Antones and manage by his son Dan.

That is Antones BlackAndAmber! There is the drum shop 'Slave To The Beat' next door and a PA/hire shop called The 'Gig Shop' next door to that!

No one remember Paragon Music Stores that was, opposite what was Centre Bar next to what was Bradford & Bingley's building society? Still got my sheet music priced 2/6d I bought from there.

Yes, Lyn Blakestone still owns it. He was originally on the Hessle Rd you might recall!

I'm not surprised the guitar shops in town are struggling, i wanted to try the Yamaha thr10 amp about a year ago. Neither Bad Dog Music or Goughs would get me one to try. Gough and Davy are even a Yamaha Stockist. They said they could get me one but i would have to buy it and that i should see if gear 4 music near york had one for me to try first. They said the same with a guitar a few months before that. I bought both else where in the end, poor service really. Rich Tone Music in Sheffield is excellent if you are passing. They have loads of stock, thousands of pounds worth. Shame Hull doesn't have a shop like that.
