One for the 50+, I remember sitting in a cafe in Blackpool as a 10 year old and loving this song. I do believe the trend was set for the brilliant music that followed after..

Unbelievable tune. I'm not of that generation or era but it captures or perhaps portrays it beautifully.

If I remember correctly VJ, this song had the longest title for a number one. (Be sure to wear a flower in your hair)

Joe, I've worked in San Francisco many years (sadly, not now), people still get a kick out of the songs from then.

The Haight/Ashbury district is still alive and well. Hasn't changed since the 60s. I go once or twice a year, but panhandlers and the unwashed get under my skin after a couple of hours.

But, the music I've always loved.

I admire you mate, would love to go to Frisco. Do you remember a band called Mountain? Played woodstock in 69 and had a few great albums, the pinnacle of my music was Leslie West, Felix Papparlardi & Corki Laing together, truly superb. All these years on, I email Corki regular and vice versa, sound sound man and still a fcuking great drummer..<ok>

28stone and made the guitar talk..:) Here's a funny story from the Isle of White in 1970, a Daily Mirror reporter thrust a mike in Jimi Hendrix face when he came off stage and asked 'Jimi, how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist of all time'? to which Hendrix replied, 'I don't know, you better go and ask Rory Gallagher..<ok>

Rory Gallagher & Taste, I love these ****ers..<ok>

Remember going to the Stoll picture house in Newcastle to watch The Concert for Bangladesh, I seem to recall it was piped back throughout the night.

We used to go see all of these guys when I was young. Rory Gallagher was fantastic. Leslie West had a huge following in Chicago, where I grew up.
What great times.

It was mate, an absolute classic clip. I just wish sometimes that Harrison had put the bottle neck down and finger picked, he did a lot that night. <ok>
