We had this discussion on a different thread last week and came to the conclusion some prefer to call it Derry and some prefer to call it Londonderry. We reached an agreement that we would respect each others opinion and all left the subject feeling elated that despite our differences peace would prevail. God bless you all. x.
I wasn't here last week and demand a new discussion It's in paddyland so i would probably just call it ****hole
What do you guys call London? Do you go with the Unionist pronunciation of "Lahn-donn" or with the Republican name of "Hew-man-cess-pit-full-oh-bumlords-and-people-livinginboxes"?
Actually, sticking the name of somewhere good in front of an obvious craphole in order to make it sound less **** could catch on. Surprised it hasn't been tried more often actually. How about these? WindsorStoke BathManchester EnglandIreland.
No need to choose, just add them together, juggle them about a little, and you get derlonrydonderry, a beautiful coming together with parity of esteem.
That would be a typically informed republican view of the world then ! While most people know london as the birthplace of the modern world, one of the world's top 3 financial centres, the seat of power of one of the most influential governments on the planet, and one of the most sought after property hotspots on earth, the astonishingly ill informed irish republican community think of it as a place where people live in boxes. Par for the course in terms of republican wisdom really.
