Good. On his day he's class, but those 'days' don't happen often enough anymore. Could this give Thudd a chance?
If Woy gives the captaincy to Rooney, he needs a good pickaxe to the cranium. There's nobody in the current squad I would give it to either. (Hart maybe, but I don't like GKs as captains) Possibly Cahill at best.
Cahill can't ****ing defend never mind captain a team. Great news re Gerrard though. Frankly I'm giving up on England until Woy goes.
He basically cost us a world cup place with that nice flick on to his team mate Suarez, but overall I think he's been as good as anyone in an England shirt over the last 10 years, so good luck to him. Whether Huddlestone's close to a call up depends on how far Woy is prepared to deviate from his template for the Euro qualifiers. Seen as he appears to be more conservative than Harold MacMillan, I'd say we could be waiting some time for Tommy boys call up.
You were a good player Gerrard but we have to move on, England's future doesn't include you and the likes of Lampard.
He was an exemplary captain who would shed blood for his team. No obvious repacement either. Bone head Rooney is not a captain.
Part of the `next generation` that should have achieved so much more at international level....great team on paper in 2010. suspect our new bunch will disappoint too come 2018 after 4yrs of huge wage rises allowing for big diamond earrings and even bigger egos.
Definitely the best of the 'Golden Generation' and hasn't let his ego of breaking the caps record cloud his decision like Beckham.
Fair cop...he didnt per se apart from the great `do u know who i am?...play this record boy`DJ punch up....unlike 70% of the `golden generation`....but he never sweat blood like a Terry Butcher for England.....hes only ever saved that for LFC
