I read that Gylfi and Ben both valued at £10 mill and Vorm at £5 mill. So it would be Ben and Vorm for Gylfi + £5mill
The Mirror are reporting a 10million deal done for Ben. Then a separate deal of Vorm for around £5million, plus Gylfi
If that is the case, it's a dangerous move on our part - because there's every chance that the Vorm for Gylfi+cash swap deal could end up not materialising.
Gylfi plus £5 million for Vorm is a hell of a deal if pulled off I'm happy with £15 million and Gylfi for those two should it materialise.
Davies completed his medical and is heading to Toronto to rejoin the team . Look like Vorm will also be a Spur. Buy low , sell high... good business with Taylor and Fab ready to take over 1st team spots .
The agreement is as I stated earlier but being put through as separate deals. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10979119/Tottenham-to-sign-Ben-Davies-and-Michel-Vorm-with-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-and-5m-heading-Swanseas-way.html
Crazy bit of business by Huw if true. Siggy (bad season last year) for Ben Davies (upcoming British talent) then selling Vorm for 5M Spurs must be laughing, they just made money on Siggy. **FACEPALM HUW**
Huw will pay anything to put on the appearence that people want to come here , seemed obvious after agreeing to big wages with Gomis and now it looks like we might overpay for Siggy . Huw whinging about wanting to get back to spending wisely after buying Bony seems a laugh now .
I can't wait for this season to be over already and we haven't even started. I'm becoming more and more convinced that installing Monk as full time manager will be the decision that see's us leave the top flight for another 30 odd years. It's ok though as we'll have money in the bank
Look. Vorm was poor last season. His only decent season was the first one. After that he's getting more like Dai Davies every day, with simple shots going straight through him. Ben Davies had a good start but he went off the boil too. A lot of goals came down his flank, he made quite a lot of expensive mistakes. Life moves on. These are not critical players for us. Bony is, so let's hope he stays.
Agree Campion, plenty of people were complaining about Vorm and Ben's performances last season. We have loaned out Michu and Gylfi is the perfect replacement on the version of Michu from last season. It's seems as if we are damned if we do and damned if we don't at the moment. Keeping Bony is the key priority along with the likes of Routs, Dyer, Jonjo and Leon. IF we manage to get Payet and Montero over the line and nobody else of significance leave, it will have been a good window with the likes of Gomis and Emnes already signed.
Vorm didnt have his best season i agree. but he is still a full Dutch international and if both Spurs and Liverpool want him then he cant be all that bad. I think you are completely wrong with Davies I thought he had another great season. Admittedly he did have the odd poor game, but tell me a player who doesnt have bad games. Please show me all these expensive mistakes he made. As long as we are replacing them with better players i have absolutely no problem letting him go. But to say a Goalkeeper is not a critical position is a strange statment. I dont think (it is only my opinion) that the keeper we have signed is anywhere good enough for where we hope to be. Both of our keepers in Tremmel and Flapianski are no more than good second choices and it will come back to bite us full on the arse.
Have reservations so far about our transfer dealings but we were always going to struggle to keep hold of our best, as others have said we need to resist offers for Bony if only for another season and replace creative players like Hernandez with similar if possible.
But according to the Posts above. Vorm has been poor along with Davies and wont be missed. Well our alternative to them is Flapianski and Taylor, So if they are as good or better, Why didnt Spurs or Liverpool come in for them, they would have saved a fortune, could have had a keeper for free and a left back for about 2 million. The reason is that they are not as good and we have gone for second best as it is the cheap option.
Letting Vorm go unless he has asked for a transfer is insane. He is our #1 with the new guy yet to prove himself - he couldn't do it at Arsenal and he hasn't done it here yet. Vorm just played in the World Cup finals FFS. Same with Ben - insane move. We don't need the money .... do we.
Davies conceded the free kick at home to Everton with a needless foul, they scored the winner from free kick. That's one example off the top of my head. Another one: he got absolutely skinned away to Spurs, Andros Townsend had him for breakfast lunch and tea all game long. There were other games I remember him being led a merry dance by fast wingers. There you go.
Id take 15 million for Davies and Vorm and deals like it all day long . Taylor is as good as Davies and got no probs with Tremmell and Fab taking over for Vorm because they are both quality . Im still hoping to get 20 million for Bony , Gomis and Emnes will see us through .Money in the bank and still survive is the ticket .
So are you going to tell me no one else made a mistake , are you telling me no top fullback got beaten by a winger. Remember Taylor played a nice ack pass against Everton to cost us the game, he is our alternative. So are you saying he ( Ben) isnt that good and we are well rid. Just curious how some people when players leave, always highlight the bad things they did and Ben must have done lots for two top sides to want to sign him. Absolutely unbelievable.
