You old CUNext tuesdays should know of him. He was an instructor on my A course. Had a cracking few stories from the Shankly era. When he signed on, they told him he was going to be the right hand man after a year..... only problem was two guys named Paisley and ***an were in the way! Proper old school cat but thought it was cool that for the past week I was with Tony Waiters who I think was the GK coach when he was here?
Derail after 1 post... Shocking. And never heard of him? Before my time obviously.... Saint or Billy might know?
Since no one knows who he is, is it really that shocking that it derailed so quickly...? Dave will probably know.
Taking up coaching, he worked for the Football Association as a Regional Coach, and for Liverpool's youth development program before moving to Burnley. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Waiters) Hadn't heard of him either; doesn't sound like he was too high-up at Liverpool.
Ah well. Had some good stories with Senior Shankly. I guess his house was right by or close to Everton's training ground? Tony asked him "Boss, you hate Everton, why do you live over here, why did you move to this location?" Shankly: " It was ****ing dark Tony"
Worst thing about this is Everton treated Shankly loads better than Liverpool did after his retirement!!
He makes jam as well. I remember Tony Hateley. I bet Billy does too- don't buy all that bs about it being his dad who told him.
