I'm not blaming Sky for the players' greed Beefy, I'm blaming them for hijacking Sport (all Sport) and holding all Sports fans to ransom. Apart from lining their own greedy pockets they have transformed everything they touch away from its original ethos into a numerical exercise on a Balance Sheet and a P&L account. Bad for Sport and Bad for Sports fans.
You can't blame Sky for how expensive football is, yes it hasn't helped but it was always going to happen. If it hadn't have been Sky it would have been some one else. The clubs themselves are the ones to blame, despite getting higher and higher earnings from being in the Prem do they reduce anything? Nope they don't. It is all about greed as is any business, it's just a shame the clubs can't see it is turning away some fans.
its all his dads fault. He put his kid in Chelsea acadamy even though only 1 Chelsea player in the last 15 years have come through thier system. If he was not such a greedy dad and had gone for a lesser club like Palace then his son would have had a solid beginning to career instead of 3 years of being loaned to other clubs. Cork is a good solid pro, pretty sure he will get a contract as he is a good addition to the squad. Even if he does not get a contract he will be a free agent which is what all quality players are after as they can get top wages from thier next club and I am pretty sure 10 other PL clubs would welcome him with open wallets. His dad should stop writing stupid things as it may damage his sons future
I think, other than having a very generous owner, the only thing that will bring ticket prices right down is a no-show from the fans - and I can't really see that happening. When people stop turning up or buying season tickets then the club are more likely to act. PL clubs know that pretty much whatever the price, the fans are going to show up. The Bayern president was right, £2m is nothing to a top flight club but it makes a lot of difference to the fans having to pay 400 odd quid less on season tickets.
If we took £400 off each season ticket price and sold 25k (which is about our max), it'd lose us £10m. That's a pretty big deal.
They don't reduce anything because it's an arms race. If one team takes that Sky money and uses it to slash ticket prices, and another takes it and uses it to sign players, there's a good chance that the second team will gain an advantage. That's not greed (given that a great many teams are losing money in spite of it), it's business in an environment where everyone is running scared.
