Now Panda boy has been banned I would just like to say it was a good decision. I didn't enjoy his racist stuff but hope he returns with a open mind
Agree, and happy that he's gone permanently. I doubt his mind is capable of being opened, a frightened and ignorant worldview.
I dunno what the 'eff happened but trust the mods decision completely. Shame they had to be put in that position in the first place.
I try to keep things a pretty much a light hearted approach to life. At 53 years of age, I've seen enough of sad & bad things in life to make you think twice. I find as l get older, l may be set in some of my views but as a whole, l try to respect others more than l have in the past. They say we become more tolerant as we get older and l can related to that. We all come from different walks of life and that is why we should possibly be more considerate when passing comment. I know I'm no angel but l try most of the time.

He won't return Oddball, he's permanently banned. Needless to say, as ever, I totally disagree with this decision. I don't think anyone should ever be banned barring the most extreme circumstances. I'm not going into the reasoning for this as its been done to death. Andy's waffle about Tiger Woods yesterday was just plain silly but its stuff that can be easily dealt with by the members. We're all grown men after all. We don't need to be protected by Big Brother. I know the Mods try and deal with complainants as best they can and have an unenviable job of keeping everyone happy but no doubt they've had PM's from the same old cranks who're part of the "offended" brigade, ubiquitous in modern PC society. No complaints received by 98% of the membership means one thing and complaints from 2% means another. The Mods have a very difficult job and are as evenhanded and professional as possible but I can't help but always think that the same bellyachers with their incessant whining (behind everyone's backs of course) must eventually find their mark. Constant dripping wears a stone etc. The specter of the tail wagging the dog in situations like this repeatedly crops up for me despite us having what must be the best pair of Mods on this whole Site (and possibly all football Forums). If I was in their position I'd be forced to act too. Its just the way the system is. Inherently flawed.
could I suggest that instead of banning people we make them spend 6 months in purgatory in a place such as oh erm I don't know the Barnsley board

Mate I am no PC society man but he openly pumped out racist views and I am pleased the mods saw that ... He had a banner about the French and that seemed to be acceptable like one of the last acceptable forms of plain racism allowed. Coming from gypsy blood I hope you can understand that i wasn't seeing consistency perviously about all things race related. I fully support the mods on this because it should be fair on all races and there's nothing PC about that ... it's being consistent that makes the difference you thick Irish Crossdresser
The mods won't just let one loud voice who spouts the rules dictates things. There's a lot of consideration for the rules, the stature of the poster (in this case he is a long standing one) and the general views of all the board (even if not received in PM'd complaints). As stated, the mods are extremely level-headed and won't be forced into over reacting on decisions. They do also have a decent moral compass but would only act very reluctantly to disrupt the status quo. At least that's what I'd guess (not having direct communications with either for a while now). A bit like the Untouchables - incorruptible good guys!
Oh I know that mate. Its obvious you're not the type and nor are, to be fair, the vast majority of Board members (I think?!). I'd guess that all the complaints have been made by the same small number of whinge-bags. Of course I can't be certain so its just a calculated guess. I'd like to see consistency too Oddball but the opposite to banning everyone who says summat we find unpalatable. I'd like to see nobody banned at all. Free speech and collective action if the members believe someone's out of order. Not anarchy. I'd prefer to call it a libertarian system. A Free Market, to use an economic analogy. Restrictions and over-regulation have a devastating effect on the buoyancy of these on-line discussion Forums. Those that can't hack it simply shouldn't use them. Its as straightforward as that. Andy's one-liners and off the cuff gags were a part of this Board for the last couple of years and he was one of the family. He's now been kicked out and this Forum is worse off for it. Another "character" has been culled in an orgy of over-sensitivity and PC claptrap. I'll miss him.
I respect the mods decision, and was completely unaware of Andy's previous issues/runins with the mods. But was reading that thread, and never felt there was anything racist in there at all. Just because race issues are raised, does not of itself then automatically become racist. We are (mostly) grown men (and Beth), who should be allowed openly discuss adult issues. I too felt Andy was a character, and will be missed.
Swords, you're assuming its our mods that banned him - I inferred it was the supermods he fell foul of. They already had some heat direct from the OFCOM regulator about another thread which made the daily mirror, so I'm guessing they don't need the hassle at the same time as the increased scrutiny.
I think it's a shame. The forum's quiet enough as it is at times, but Andy would always be floating about somewhere (attempting) to provide a bit of levity.

As I said in my first post, our Mods are the best there is. I'm not blaming our Mods at all (although from the sticky thread, they obviously concur with the decision unfortunately). Rather I'm blaming the precious crybabies who can't handle a bloody internet message board. The Supermod was obviously sought out by these people. He wouldn't have known a thing about fukking Andy otherwise. He was PM'd, probably obsessively so, and that's why he's chopped him. There can be no other reason. I hope those devious backstabbers are proud of themselves.
.....or it could be that the supermod copped what Andy was posting and as there was some history he decided enough was enough.......
