    Unless it's £10 million + Gylfi?

I don't think he's worth more than £15 million but the Luke Shaw transfer does suggest we might be selling him a little cheap when you compare performances and prices etc.

I'd be very disappointed if we didn't get a decent amount of cash and Siggy.

Good bit of business indeed, he was unheard of 18 months ago, and now we make £10 Million on him, I'm sure Huw can see the profit value in home grown players, and we need to set the yardstick for this, as the British players coming through are too few, and more needs to be done to improve this issue both in England and Wales, would love to see us developing a conveyor belt of stars with our new Academy, mostly Welsh of course.

I would just like to wish Ben Davies the very best at Spurs, he's going to a good club that will want to play the game properly, and he is so young with so much potential, good home grown LB's are difficult to come by, but I hope that Taylor now steps up to become a new signing for us this season, he needs to regain his pre injury form, he is quality too!................<ok>

Many are saying that the Luke Shaw price makes Ben look a little cheap. However - everyone must surely see that it is Shaw that was way overpriced as opposed to Ben being undervalued ?

£10m a fair price for Davies. We overpaid for Gylfi and they overpaid for Vorm so a fair deal all in all.

Any update on Vorm as I'll be surprised if Vorm is looking to leave just to warm our bench.

It's mainly due to the view that if Davies has a impressive season then his value doubles, that's how fickle the transfer market is so we have either signed Davies on the cheap or you sold us a dud, but if you had kept him for another season and he played to a high standard then you could have sold him for double.

A lot of ifs and buts, yet your club clearly see this as good business for a player thay feel is replaceable.

Our last manager , not to anger anyone , built confidence and value out of players like Routledge and Davies . Long shots , given a chance by a manager wno likes long shots , Davies and Routledge 's value was rocketed by a manager who brought in neither to the club ... good quality in a manager .Imagine , 26 million £ for Allen and Davies .... silly or what .... seriously .lThanks seems not enough Ben but .....THANKS !

Can't help but feel we've been a bit fleeced on this one. Ben for Gylfi plus money would be fine but not Vorm as well

Maybe Huw's met his match dealing with Levy ,But we'll just have to wait and see what the package is before passing judgement . A lot of press speculation has been about Davies being guaranteed playing regularly with Spurs as opposed to Liverpool , strange that considering it's Taylors job to displace him unless Monk can give those assurances , as it should be imo.

The Vorm link all of a sudden has cooled down. Looks like it's a deal just involving Ben and Gylfi atm, no mention of Vorm on the SSN link in the transfer thread.

Selling players like Ben is no way to build a Prem squad. At his age his upside is huge and we're letting him go for a fraction of his potential worth and I'm not convinced that Taylor is as good as and Taylor's upside is minimal IMO.

Yankee, we will always be a selling club. That's the way small clubs survive. We will always have players taken by the bigger clubs after a couple of seasons.

The only way to stop this would be for us to finish top 8 every season which will never happen due to our financial constraints.

All clubs have financial constraints because of stadium size limitations. In our market these constraints are offset with significant fees for media rights. We are not a cash poor club, not by any stretch. We don't have a need to sell anybody. At least not this season, unless the settlement with Laudrup has tipped our net operating number negative.

And I don't see how we break into the top 8 and stay by letting the likes of Ben go for cash that we then shell out to acquire lesser players, older in age, for higher wages.
