I'd take him in an instant. You got a link anywhere? I don't know why he'd swap New York for Hull, but who knows.

Ahh fair. I've not seen it anywhere but that would be an amazing signing. He showed in the world cup that he still has it.

I've just done a search on there and I can't see a single mention of him being linked to us.

(PS You don't need to be "on Twitter" - ie to have an account - to look at Twitter or search it for posts.)

I think its a fake picture though, there is no article on the Mail's site at at the time it says it was published.

I know Cahill had a good world cup but I dont want him. I have watched him play in the MLS for the last few years and although he is still good he really isnt up to our level anymore. He was basically non existent playing against one of the worst MLS teams in last nights game (SJ) and had to come off after like 60 minuets they only managed a 1-1 draw. I also watched him play against Philly a few days before and he also looked poor. They lost 3-1. Every world cup people go crazy over players and their value sky rockets. This is similar, he has a good world cup and everyone thinks he is the same player they remember from back in the day. He really just isnt as good as he once was.

I'm not so sure that Rose is as expendable as the article suggests. Spurs played Vertonghen at LB last season when Rose was injured. If they do buy Davies then there's a chance they'll keep Rose as back up, for cup games and Europe?

Would prefer Taylor from Swansea but think there's little chance of that happening, especially as they're about to lose Davies..

Is that a lot? Sheffield want 4 mill for a league 1 defender that they call "lead boots". I am not sure I have any idea what the going rate for players is anymore. This transfer window feels like I am playing manager on fifa.

I don't think we do but if we had £6 million to spend on a LB, we should use it on the far superior Bertrand.
