    I wanted to work/volunteer at RIAT last year up in Gloucester but couldn't do it, couple of my mates did it and they spent three days driving Bentleys and Jaguars around an air strip to pick up various senior officers, foreign dignitaries, cabinet ministers etc.

    Oh right. I thought it was a reference to the Simpsons episode where they go to an airshow and Sideshow Bob uses the airshow to threaten the town with a nuclear bomb. Over analysing again.

    Farnborough's amazing. It's a great day out there's such a range of aircraft as well as interesting displays from various corporates (the UK Space Agency and European Space Agency being my favourites!)

    But tbf, I haven't been to any other airshow so I can't compare. But aren't Farnborough and Paris considered the big two in the world of aviation?

    Best for me is the Bournemouth airshow. But I might be biased by the fact that, one year, I lined up for a practice run at my IR test behind the Red Arrows, who were on a practice run) and in front of the Dutch F16 display team (likewise).
