Seems Lovren is going to be completed very soon and for £16m.

£16m, my arse. You do realise as the buying club, it is LFC here who are leaking the news (as you have done with everyone this summer - Lambert, Lallana, Bony, Markovic, Sanchez, Emre Can).

It's fair to say a few of your fans also have doubts on Lovren, so LFC want to be seen to drive a hard deal.

Dejan himself already said that Saints turned down 20m, so it will not be that figure, be it euros or pounds.

 

So how long before his dream is to play in Spain?

 

There was a piece earlier this summer saying that Barca had a look at him and his agent found out and was really trying to make it happen, as you would, I guess.

I'd laugh if that happened again in a year's time.

 

We turned down £20 million, Lovren said so himself, so think it's more like £22+ million.

Curious to know, as I haven't been around many Liverpool fans, but are fans happy with your transfer policy this summer? Because from the outside, it appears to be suicidal. Maybe I'm wrong but I would be concerned with the manner that the work has been done, as well as the quality of the players brought in in relation to the current squad. I really don't think money is being used efficiently, which is surprising, given the background of the owners.

 

Oh give over. The guy's clearly not trying to push anyone's buttons.

 

Liverpool have made very good signings, I reckon they've already cemented 7th place.

 

Who said we had turned down £20m, was it just Press speculation as it is now quoted to be £15 to £16m, someone has been telling porkies.

 

How are they going to keep all of these superstars happy? You can only start with XI.

 

Catch 22. I would like Lovren fail at Liverpool but would also like him to be shown up for the unloyal cretin he is by doing the same to LFC next season as he is here. That would mean him having a great season though.

But when Lovren said that, didn't you also say that the £20m was the max-out figure after clauses etc., and that it was really considerably less than that? One of the people-who-know-things did, can't remember which.

 

I was told 18m and he was gone a few months back before his bad attitude came to light. But you can tell the board has done as much as they can with him. He himself said a bid of £20m was rejected, no way would we back track to £16m.

 

But when he said that 20m was rejected, someone on here said that it wasn't really 20m, it was a much smaller sum with a bunch of "if Liverpool builds an intergalactic spaceship and win the Andromeda Champions League you get an additional 2m" style add-ons. Thus it's possible that 16m would actually be improved upon that.

 

Still can't see it. Maybe £16m upfront with actual add ons that are decent. I was more on about the £16m was the total price.

 

Tony Barrett of The Times, who is their Liverpool correspondent, says he has checked it out and the deal is not €20m, but around £20m.

Expected to complete in the coming days.

 

Hopefully we have a replacement lined up.

 

Shame we didn't kick him off our pre season tour and let him train himself. Meaning he would go into the season unfit.
