Remy could be injured within the few weeks of the season and out for a year, while Borini could score goals to help Sunderland avoid relegation but of course I would never hope for Remy to be injured!
Moreno may turn out no better than Davies, has anybody actually seen much of him play, if Moreno was top drawer there would far bigger clubs than Liverpool trying to sign him. Liverpool could end up paying double or more for a player of similar quality to Davies, and with no PL experience. Remy is cheap at the reported £8.5m, he has shown some flashes of superb quality but he is very inconsistent and injury prone. £14m for Borini sounds excessive, I would imagine it will probably be more like £8m with the rest in add ons etc (which are unlikely to ever be triggered), it is funny that when Liverpool are buying it is reported as the initial fee without the add ons, and vice versa when they are selling.
But the media love Liverpool, they are the darlings of the media in this country hardly surprising when over half ex-player players working in the media are ex Liverpool, and a number of prominent sports reporters are also self confessed reds so everything is reported in a positive light.
This is the very reason, though, that it so ****ing hilarious when 'Pool inevitably fail to match the ridiculous hype that always surrounds them at the start of every season. This season has the potential to be the funniest of all, because the 'Pool loving media has latched on to 'Pool's over-achievements of last season (believing they were well-deserved, which they most certainly were not), but haven't properly factored-in the loss of Goofy. Everyone twat-pundit is predicting that 'Pool will finish in the top 4, when every sentient thinking being (who isn't a red Mouser) knows full well that they will be lucky to finish in the top 7. It's going to be an absolute hoot listening to all the 'Pool lovers inventing excuse after excuse for their failure, and the utter embarrassment caused by the faith that has been placed in LFC and Roy Rodgers. And if that isn't enough of a tantalizing comedy prospect, we have the farcical prospect of the humiliation that will be "'Pool in the CL" to experience. Trust me, Dave TV will be sponsoring LFC next season.
I cannot take the Poool seriously after finishing below Spurs in the PL four seasons running. And that sequence began when their 'last won the league title' one was already 20 yrs long.
The BBC seem to think that Davies is having a medical: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28394084 Knowing us, he'll probably fail!
The Telegraph are under the impression that the deal for Ben Davies also includes Michel Vorm, with Sigurddson and £5m going the other way.
So far the window is going as expected (apart from Vorm, if that happens) as I knew we needed a backup GK but Vorm I thought was unrealistic yet he must have been encouraged by Lloris signing a contract as that means in a years time Vorm will be our number 1, so he has year of better wages and easy access to the sights of London! Left back, obvious weak area. Siggy was never going to have a future so good sale, if happens, and all we need now is a quality centre back, then its over to Pochettino to show what he can do.
Dream on! What you think we are a bloody charity or what.......................... You just be grateful you have a half decent LB, and look after him, he's a young kid..................
"Dream on! What you think we are a bloody charity or what" Darth Levy preys on transfer moments of weak-mindedness.
He's probably in there taking his wallet! If the rumours about the deal including Vorm are true, which I doubt, then it would appear that Huw has had a sudden outburst of generosity. The loan of Michu to Napoli seems odd to an outsider though, so perhaps there's some sort of big plan which we've yet to see.
Anyone remember watching Davies as a defender and saying he's just what we need? Be honest, we know little about his ability and just assuming it's a good deal because he's young. So far the judgement of Baldini has been more then questionable so let's see if Davies is any good before we say it's a great deal.
Possibly, but who was mentioning Davies last season? Yet I'm now hearing he's exactly what we need. I know we spent last season looking at potential left backs, be interesting to know if Davies was one.
