Good entertaining race. But can't wait for a Mercedes 1 on 1 again

I think it was more the fact that they pitted at similar times, and Bottas managed to hold off Hamilton at the end. Hamilton had done most of the catching up before then.

Fairly enjoyable race, pleased for Bottas again. Just wish someone could take the fight to Mercedes. If one of them has a problem the result is never really in doubt for the other.

He was ahead after the first stop, he then managed to crash into both Button and Raikkonen and failed to overtake a car which is a second a lap slower in race pace with 25 lap better tyres and with a compound difference.
I have no idea how anyone is praising that drive, as he should have been 2nd, a lot further ahead than he was.

I would really like to see both Hamilton and Rosberg start at the back of the field to see how they would work their way up. That would be interesting. Congrats Rosberg. Good race by Bottas...good result. Hamilton must be driver of the day though starting last on the grid and making it to third. I wonder if there had been a safety car near the end when that car broke down on the track..when might have happened? Anyway the race is on agin next week.

I tell you what... Ricciardo is quite immense.

That lad has quite a future. I love his driving, love his attitude. He's a breath of fresh air.

Anyone know of any reliable links to streams that aren't Sky? This race was the last straw for me with their pathetic coverage. Kravitz only stayed in the Merc garage for 99% of the race - what the hell happened to the remaining 1%?!? Talking to other teams? And I don't think Croft shouted anywhere near loud enough when Hamilton passed that Marussia. My god, I expect better from "the Mercedes show starring Lewis and 21 others".

You should tune in to some Australian coverage.... Oh, hang on... :p

If ya can find a stream, try NBC. Their coverage is very good and totally unbiased.

Ah cheers, will have to try it for Hungary <ok>

Aus coverage is kind of minimal - 10 minutes pre-race and post-race as well as just before and after the commercial breaks with the main commentary going to Sky. To be expected though, I think we're the only country that actually gets full free-to-air coverage (although how much longer that lasts I have no idea). They like to talk about Dan obviously but it's really not that much actually - Alan Jones loves talking about Williams though, for obvious reasons :p

Yeah, shame really but never mind. Hopefully Renault can produce a solid engine for next season, and we'll have a stronger Red Bull, a continuation of Williams' resurgence and something new and hopefully exciting in the form of Mclaren-Honda. Unfortunately I can only see more mediocrity from Ferrari.

Ricciardo was outstanding again- dicing and holding his own with all the big guns.

It is a shame we have a season that is simply so one-sided.

The Williams team aside, there needs to be serious, serious improvement from the rest of the chasing pack for next season. Mercedes have as much up their sleeve as they want. The only times they run into trouble seems to be when they are at full tilt racing each other for position, other than that they cruise around with good reliability. Rosberg just seemed to drive within himself today- another very calculated drive. Not too dissimilar from the way Alain Prost used to be calm and make sure he capitalised on these situations.

Can we expect radically different designs next season from those who have struggled?

Just watched the race again between Indy races... Despite the lack of battle for the lead, that was a cracking race! There was some great racing, a good dose of incidents (thankfully non bad) and another podium for Williams!

Hamilton and Ricciardo provided a ton of entertainment! I think they should just dump those two down the field every race. :p

Jensen is starting to annoy me with his whining hear and there. Being confused by his collision with Lewis. It was clear Jensen, you ran wide and left the door open whilst Lewis went in a tiny bit hot. End of conversation.

I'm sure the top 3 are all very happy with their days race.
Nothing happening with a battle for the lead but the rest of the race was a cracking one. Another race in a matter of days as well :D

Just seen this as well <laugh>

After watching the race back think I overreacted with my feelings about Lewis's move. I can understand why he thought I was giving him room.

shhh, you're not allowed to say something true if it criticises Hamilton, the fact he hit more people in that race than Maldonado has all season will go unnoticed.

Without the front wing damage he may have got second without the enforced extra pitstop.

Still a good drive, despite what the some say (no prizes for guessing who they are.......)

I think he'll be relatively pleased with 3rd, damage limitation, and it is clear that the gap has closed to at least one of the Williams.

Felipe Crassha's accident looked spectacular, glad he is okay. Has he run up more accident damage than Maldonado now? Big shunts at Canada, FP1 Britain and now Germany, and he was not 100% innocent in any of them. Maybe he should learn to give a bit more space around him.
