I've not checked the stats, but from memory, don't the champions often tend to struggle most in the PL the following season? Cardiff, Reading, QPR (lasted 2), Wolves didn't lost long either.
They seem to have a season or two like most promoted clubs, with the odd exception: NUFC for example. Generally, from what I've read from LCFC fans, they don't seem to believe they'll be in any kind of relegation battle.
I think that’s the bare minimum expectation according to what I read on Foxes Talk a few weeks back. How do you think you think you’ll do?
Personally I'd be over the moon if we finished 15th - no doubt some of our 'fans' will expect us to finish 5th but they're the speshul people, a bit like patty on here
That was Newcastle to be fair, a team who had prem players stay with them and have a far better infrastructure than your or ourselves
Yep you're right. I thought it was Reading. Newcastle finished 12th but to say they had a better infrastructure is astonishing. They got promoted through their Premier League players who were better than ours. They were a circus behind the scenes. You could definitely compare us to Reading though.
Between 14th and 17th. I don't think we'll go down, but we'll make a meal of it. Very similar to your season just past but I think we'll score and concede more goals.
Reading were one of those one offs where they had prem ready players who were playing for them and stayed up on their momentum. Wouldn't surprise me if you had a similar season but the premier league now is more competative than it was then
