Being the main striker and having the potential to miss fewer games because of injury No one ignored the SAS but since you're #obsessed with Liverpool no doubt you realise that it was more of a media thing whereas we also included Sterling in there as an important component
Oh right. So the Sturridge / Suarez partnership was just a media thing and it was really Sterling that was more important, of course how stupid of me.
In all this silly head butting I still don't see why sturridge isn't lfc fans main man nor ever got a song... FFs maxi had a song and he was gash I personally think the lad will score are his record consistently at lfc over 18 month... Where Suarez was banned remember has been very good but his main issue is in that time has been a series of injuries He's England's first (and only) choice striker btw In other words both England and lfcs hopes are tied up in him but we don't seem to give him any real love
This. I seem to remember Ford and Sterling making him as many goals as Suarez last season. Look, if there is anyone on here who is/was a bigger supporter/forgiver of Luis than I, then I'd like to meet them. Luis is, on form, one of the best three players in the world - defo the best in the league last year. Stating the ****ing obvious: we will miss him. But.. will we miss him as much as Spurs missed Bale? I say no. Studge is the top English centre-forward in the league. He's a class act. and if we create chances he'll score more than he misses. On top of that he scores goals out of nothing, and there's no-one, including Luis himself, who I'd back more when he has the defender square-on in the box running towards goal (except Torres five years ago) - it usually ends with a chance or a penalty. It's overlooked that in the first 20 minutes in the second half against Palace in that (in)famous penultimate league game, he was simply sensational until he literally ran out of breath. But, unlike Luis, he will miss ten games ago a season due to injury, fatigue. There's not many with Luis' constitution, that's for sure. So if we get Remy to take the load off him (though I am worried that we're entering Kewell territory in spending on wages what we gain on transfer fees) all when and good. but I'll say this again - the question is not Studge (20 goals is sound for a Prem cf, in my book) but that Sterling, who'll hopefully play more in the no 10 role this season AS WELL as a winger, Hendo and Coutinho will chip in with more goals this term. Not saying we didn't score loads last season, but half came from S and S, a load from Gerrard's pens, and comparatively not that many from the rest. Well, not as many as I hope they score this season! But Studge? he's fine AND loved too. But he isn't Suarez.
I agree that he doesn't get as much love as some others....TBH He came with a bit of baggage and we were already besotted with Suarez. On a few occasions last season, I had a whinge because he could have played someone else in. Suarez was less selfish (sometimes)..... I think he'll get a lot more worship this season
