Great addition to the squad plus 5.5mill pure profit from the Borini deal. Don't upgrades normally mean the buyer's putting an extra wad of cash down?
If he starts banging in the goals we'll be missing him quite often through suspension. He needs to leave his top on after he scores
Weird we are pushing our luck to get him even cheaper Guess the fact he wants out, maybe we'll say hey, we'll give you £6m rather than you have an unhappy player that no one wants... Guess it's like a loophole in tapping up. Can legally talk to the player by submitting a bid that gets accepted then go back with a lower offer and say if not we'll pull out and then they have an unhappy player. Not great but doubt it'll happen anyway, we'll pay the full £8m.
i always thought you can pull out of anything if there is no legally signed document. but now days esp since the days of internet there is the weird law of agree to purchase to buy something, although i don't know the technicalities of if you dont go through, how does it stand from a legal point of view. law used to be black and white, now there is too much grey lol.
I was thinking about like when you bid on an auction or something. Yes you have not signed a legally binding document but you are taking part in a process where you are assumed to back your bid up unless you have good reason. When you win an auction you can't then say well I won too easily so can I reduce my bid a bit. Flappy pointed out Higuain but in that case the deal was then dead, not renegotiated. Anyway I guess if you mess a club about they just say **** you no more deals and explain to the player you were more interested in messing them around for a few hundred thousand and they don't really rate you.
Let's not use Arsenal as a template for how a real club makes bids though Higuain and Suarez alone shows they are children who phone in a bid then slam it down and run away when talk gets serious
Loic Remy is set to have his medical in Boston on Monday before joining up with the Reds squad for their tour of North America. Remy has accepted a wage cut to play for Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool side. He should be unveiled Weds. at the Roma game. Make of it what you will
All the noises about the Borini deal is that it's a 8.9m fee rising to 14m, if he/we hit certain targets. Seems fair enough to me. I'm a bit concerned that he's got on the plane today though!
I'm very pleased with Remy at 8.5 and a pay cut (I imagine probably reduced to 70k from 90k). I think his goal scoring record for Newcastle was good and he adds much needed quality depth for us for not a huge outlay
Purely for fantasy football reasons do you think he'll be in the starting XI? He's a good price on the Premier League game and wouldn't mind him up front but i imagine you lot know more than most when it comes to your starting XI. Thanks in advance!
unless he has a pre season of you aint dropping me boss, as of this moment i would say no he wouldn't be starting 11. never know though, he could do well in pre season and brendan have to readjust to fit him in the team and he starts, but i doubt that will happen personally.
Okay. Your starting line up does look quite difficult, i just wondered Remy would automatically take Suarez place. He is 4M cheaper than Sturridge which is why i wanted him! Thanks for the replies.
