He's a left-sided central defender, according to wikipedia. If we sign him it doesn't look good for Dan Burn.
If Amorebieta leaves then this move would maker sense. He's 27 so I'd still harbour hope for Dan Burn if we do sign him. This could also be a clever business move. After the World Cup they've just had, soccer is set to take off like wildfire in the US (more than it has been already) and with many not already affiliated to an English club, this could be our chance to keep up the 'Fulhamerica' tag which could be massive for us growing our fan base in America. Bringing Emerson Hyndman in to the first team can't hurt either. It has become strange seeing a Fulham first team with no Americans in it.
Where's Marcello? please log in to view this image Just realised that in all of the posts - about McCormack, the Scottish trip, friendlies, training etc. - there's been no mention of Marcello Trotta. Nor has he appeared in any of the Club's slideshows. Has he simply been written off? If Brentford had followed up on there alleged interest, then he would definitely have gone. But they didn't. Also rumours of a Parma deal seem to have frittered away. While not wholly convinced about his attitude and application, there does seem to be a consensus that he's got a knack of being in the right place at the right time to get goals. However, despite getting a new contract last year, if he doesn't feature in Felix's plans why are we not pushing to sell - there's no point in sending him out on loan again. I've got a feeling that one of our challengers will snap him up (and cheaply).
He was in the pictures of the first day back for pre-season but have't seen anything since. I saw rumours that Leyton Orient were close to signing him.
Reports saying that Kansas City have declined our offer for Matt Bresler and Teletica say that we have given Olympiacos a fee of 12 million euros (£9m) for Bryan Ruiz
Reports from Spain say that Amorebieta is off to Malaga. Source: http://www.nuevofutbol.com/2014/07/20/el-malaga-sondearia-el-fichaje-de-amorebieta-fulham/
Costa Rican Radio Monumental are saying that Bryan Ruiz will after all be playing for us in the new season. Case of "watch this space" I believe!
The Club have posted "The Annual Photoshoot". Not surprisingly there is lots of social media speculation about those not included in the pictures. Here is the link: http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/july/22/ffc-photoshoot PS Marcello Trotta is in at pic 24.
And the player causing most speculation is David Stockdale, fired to an extent by Felix giving 'vague' responses to the press. " Stockdale has always maintained that his ambition is to be the number one at Fulham, having taken in several loan spells since moving to Craven Cottage in 2008, but he now has just 12 months left to run on his current contract. His possible availability has sparked interest from afar, with a number of clubs ready to test Fulham’s resolve. Brighton are said to be leading the hunt as they seek a replacement for the departed Tomasz Kuszczak. A £1million offer is said to be in the pipeline, but Magath is staying tight-lipped when it comes to possible transfer talks and intends to leave the matter in the hands of his chief executive. He said in the Fulham Gazette: “You have to ask Alistair (Mackintosh). We have four goalkeepers and that situation I’m very happy with.” Source: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/9391004 Letting Stocko go £1m to an opposing team would be plain silly. That said all doesn't seem well and as mentioned before he did seem to be a tad over-weight when the players returned for pre-season training.
Stockdale was the one player I was convinced wouldn't leave but for whatever reasons, it looks likely. Rumours coming from Roma that we are poised to sign goalkeeper Gianluca Curci. He's 29, spent the past 2 seasons on loan at Bologna and has played under age for Italy but never for the seniors. Sounds pretty underwhelming and the last time we bought a keeper from Roma didn't work out too well. If this lad costs anywhere near what we're selling Stockdale for then it's poor business in my opinion. Stockdale could be great to have in the dressing room, I know he gets on very well with the youngsters.
I have mixed feelings about Stockdale leaving. On one hand, his performances this past year never inspired much confidence in me. There were several games where Stockdale seemed tepid and unsure about what he was doing. On the other hand, Stockdale's been a good, but not great, 'keeper for us; and I'm not sure we can find better on the market. He's also got plenty of Championship experience, another good point. I'm a bit torn on this one.
If Stockdale goes does that leave Woodrow as our longest serving senior player, having been at the club since 2011?
I thought Stockdale was great last year. he made some superb saves in crucial games, which obviously didn't keep us up, but he had the right attitude and was rewarded by FM as the number 1.
Rumour at MP is that Stockdale, Ruiz, & Burn, will all be on the move within the next 2 weeks, I personally don't have a problem with this but we desperately require 2 top class defenders which will cost money. There are several London clubs, who have quality fringe players. "come on Ali Mac splash some cash on proven quality"
Ruiz is expected. Stockdale is a surprise, I hope our back up plan is good (first time I've been nervous this summer). Burn is disappointing, but Magath clearly rates Burgess higher.
As if the Stockdale news isn't bad enough, it looks like Ashkhan Dejagah is off - for the money: ”Thus, the Iranian international striker had been to Doha for a medical check and will then sign the contract. The German-Iranians with the Bundesliga Hertha BSC stations and VfL Wolfsburg should receive the reports from Saturday, according to Al-Arabi an annual salary of 6.3 million euros.” Source: http://www.augsburger-allgemeine.de...dien-Dejagah-will-zu-Al-Arabi-id30777807.html
Heâs gone - passed the medical and watching his new team train - please log in to view this image Link to pic: http://s16.postimg.org/a85h3idid/Bt_Vm2r_FCQAAXlj_D.jpg
It looks as though there are more desertions than the Bounty, at the moment I am keeping my cool and hope the hierarchy know what they are doing, but would still liked to have seen a couple of quality players joining us . maybe 7/8 games in will give us a better insight.
