Ok, so I'm in the middle of playing Football Manager, and thought I'd point out some older Italians that Briatore should look to sign for us:

Allesandro Del Piero - still doing a good job for Juventus
Gianlucca Buffon - Worlds most expensive goalie - ok, so he's a year older than Paddy, but I'm sure he'd make a good backup player
Francesco Totti - Again, still doing a job, for Roma this time
Andrea Pirlo - ok, so he might be a little old at only 31, but he's still the heartbeat of Milan
Alessandro Nesta - Still an international class defender, and still playing for Milan. Might keep one of our CB's out of the team.
Javier Zanetti - Ok, technically, he's Argentinian, but he's lived in Italy long enough to get Italian nationality. Sign him up!!

So please, PLEASE, Flavio. If you're hell bent on signing a dodgy old Italian, can we look to someone on this list please

Oh, feel free to add any other aging Itallians that you'd be HAPPY to sign. Minimum age is 31, if only because I picked Pirlo...........!

    :)

Well said Houston, those players could do a job for us but their wages would make a move to us highly unlikely. If the takeover does happen I don't think there'll be any Italians on Warnock's radar anyway...

That's a fair point - this was more of a tongue in cheek reply to the other old Italian thread...... trying to raise a smile or two in this bleak post / pre-season

I've always liked Inzagi at AC Milan, but later he's past it, scored bags of goals in his younger days

None on that list would come to QPR.

The only decent players currently in Italy are Pastore and Sanchez, and they will be leaving soon and I very much doubt to us.

I'd get Don Corleone in. He could keep a close eye on Adel.

I'd quite like Dino Zoff to replace QPRs player of the season, World Cup winner & Captain but he is 69 now, ( Does he qualify as a old Italian? ) but never the less he will still get the punters in.

Have to agree that watching the Pelican come on against WBA when we were winning and we conceded a late goal. All he had to do was carry the ball to the corner but he looked like he was treading water. His legs had seriously gone. How about Tommassi , how many games did he play ???
